The trap is not only ingenious, but the person that designed it is a genius. Older traps have a trip plate for the bait and a kill bar. The kill bar is held down by a metal rod with a bend in it that fits in a slot in the side of the trip plate. It normally takes me a few tries to set, then I pray I can set it down without it going off and catching a finger or just scaring a few years off my life. This trap has a hole in the middle of the trip plate that surrounds the bait cup. When the trap is set it raises the trip plate slightly higher than the bait cup, so a mouse would have to step on the trip plate to get to the bait. The trap has 2 metal bars. When the kill bar is laying flat (unset) on the trap, the second bar sticks up at a 90 degree angle. To set the trap, you simply press back on the top bar until it latches in place. This raises the kill bar and the trip plate into position. I baited one trap, set it and then set it in position on the floor. The trap didn't go off while moving it or setting it in position. I baited the second trap, set it on the floor, then set the trap while bending over. That's something you couldn't do with the old traps. The last thing I like about the traps is the first thing you notice, the packaging. The plastic case containing the traps is simply hinged at the bottom making it easy to open. A lot of cases like this are heat sealed on all 4 sides, involving scissors, a knife and at least 10 minutes to get them open.
Wow finally found a mouse trap that works for the mice that are hanging around my house. It is great there are two mouse traps in this pack. These traps seem to work the best and do not fall apart. When this trap gets a mouse, it does not fall apart, it stays together so it all can be thrown away together. I like how these traps are an all-in-one item once the mouse is trapped in them you throw the mouse and I do not have to pick up the mouse and the broken trap like I have had to do with other mouse traps I have used. Also, it seems they are not cheaply built and they do trap the mouse. I have tried other traps that were supposed to be built better but they did not work. These traps work great. Since I found a great trap now, I am just experimenting with what kind of bait I should use.
I received this product and they work really well. Came as a 2 pack. We have been buying Victor products along time and they make good products. This trap you can set with one hand no worrying about your fingers getting hurt. You put the bait in the trough and pull back the bar until it clicks and your ready to go.I would recommend this product to family and friends. Thank You Victor for a great product.
I live in an urban area in Las Vegas, NV. Rats, rats, rats... We have 3 rat traps set up on top of our block walls that separate the yards. We've been catching young rats. Unfortunately, they catch on pretty quick & will no longer "take the bait". Even though these are mouse traps, they work very well. Comparable to professional traps. They are made of heavy duty plastic which is much better than the old wood type that rot away. Picture compares mouse trap to professional grade rat traps. Before you call an exterminator, I suggest trying these!
As the owner of an equine boarding facility it is inevitable that mice make frequent appearances. We have used spring loaded mouse traps for years. The traps are more reliable than our barn cats who usually end up being house cats! We use spring loaded traps because they are quick kill compared to other methods like poison-a no no around a horse barn with dogs, cats, and children. I won't even consider glue traps. Highly recommend.
I love this mouse trap. It is easy to set. It's made of plastic instead of cheap wood that is beyond sensitive. The wood ones I would struggle with trying to set the bait...this one has a trough. You can simply put the cheese in the bucket type area. Very easy. The other part I love is the fact that the fast action 'kill bar' starts halfway. Mice have little to no chance with this device.
Used these in the garage to prevent mice from eating my vehicle. I personally am bad at setting conventional mouse traps, so these were really nice. Just pull back the bar and it clicks into place. A lot harder to set off accidentally. If you are good at setting traditional mouse traps and have a need for a dozen, this probably isn't the product for you when it comes to price. It performs nearly the same in my opinion except for how easy this one is to set. For me, with little need for more than 2-3 traps, these are worth the price. (I usually opt for live traps though.)
well I loaded the trap and yup I got 2 mice in my basement! so yes these work very well and it was easy to bait it and easy to use had a loud snap noise too will be getting a few more for the attic as there starting to come in now that its getting cold high recommend on this one
Got my 2 pack of Victor Power Kill Mouse Traps. These are made of plastic and could be re-used easily. Or if you are not wanting to mess with them, you can just throw away. I hate mice and rats. I seem to have plenty in my attic and needed a solution. These are very easy to set and bait. They are small enough to place anywhere. (away from kids and pets) It would be easy to remove the rodent if you have the stomach for it. Once the mouse is attracted to the trap it is almost a “no fail” trap that will get them and kill them right away(humane). No glue is used. These are great if you are afraid to use poison because of dogs or cats. I use crunchy peanut butter and the mice really like that smell. It is easy to apply and almost everyone has jar somewhere. These are well designed and so easy to set. I recommend them and especially for this time of year. Mice are starting to come in and get ready for winter. I will get some more traps and set out in my garage. They are the cheapest, easiest and for sure way to get rid of rats without spending a ton of money.
I was sent the dark gray version, which works but is not a sturdy as the one pictured.
