Mouse Trap

Dottie119 October 24, 2019

As winter sets in, mice become an issue as they seek out warm places. These arrived at a good time. I decided to use them in the garage, which it is a place that has a problem, last winter killed 18 mice out there. Within a week of using these 2 traps, I was able to get rid of 8 mice. I had never used a trap like this. At first, I thought I broke it. Then I took time to read the instructions and which are easy to follow. And what should have done in the first place. I like that it's constructed in a way that I don't have to touch the mouse at all. As someone who worries about germs, that is a good thing. It is easy to reset, and use over and over. It seems to be a durable construction. I did worry about the plastic construction out in the cold, but so far, no issues with it. Overall, it works as intended. Is easy to set and take care of the dead mice. It is nicest mouse trap I've used. And we use them every year.

No more smashed fingers

PenPen1959 October 24, 2019

Wow now I can set the traps myself without being so scared that they will smash my fingers off. What a genius idea to make these traps easy to put the bait in them and so easy to pull that bar into place but not so easy to pop it down like the old ones did. The only time I get mice is when my neighbor finally cuts his jungle of a back yard. I can happily tell everyone that these traps work because my neighbor cut his jungle yesterday I set the two traps last night and they worked. I am going get more today because I usually get about six to eight mice every time. Thanks Walmart for another great product.

Quick kill mouse trap

Kat October 23, 2019

Shipping was fast. All I can say is wow this product really works. Every fall I get a mouse in my basement. I set up trap that was easy to do and by the next morning I had it. I will have to get more. This are so great compared to the ones you had to set and hope you still had fingers later. Highly recommended

Wonderful~!

RainDQ October 28, 2019

I have used manual mouse traps forever and I do believe this one will be a real winner. First of all, they are easy peasy to set. Secondly, you are not going to risk snapping the bejesus out of a finger doing it. About positioning the mouse perfectly, that remains to be seen. Looks like it will work just fine. I have used Victor brand mouse traps for many years, sometimes a better mousetrap really can be built.

improved/safer mouse traps

Deana October 23, 2019

The Farmers field is literately connected to our back yard, and when the weather gets cooler, or he plows for planting or harvesting, then we end up with a few un-invited visitors. For about 11 years, we used the older style "Victor" mouse traps that has a high-impact metal bar, with a hair pin trigger, and will snap onto your finger with the slightest wrong move (ouch), so been using poison packets for eight years, these are a lot better for our fingers, and no multiple re-sets, but we have to search down the smell of a dead rodent (yuck). Unlike the older traps, the high-impact metal bar has a convenient handle made around it, so while holding the back of the trap, you lift the red handle to release the rodent into the trash (easy peasy). It's a very simple process, and It will not snap back on your fingers. It has a covered bait trough, as soon as the mouse tries to raise it with it's nose, to get to the bait, then the trap goes to work, immediately releasing for a quick, humane kill. It can be used indoors, or out, but because my neighbor hood is full of cats, skunks, possums, and dogs, (none belong to me) I do not want the trap being carried away. It's Incredibly easy to set, just pull the lever straight up and your done, no fear of it snapping while placing it because everything is underneath it now. I will be using these for a long time to come.

A Better Mouse Trap

Kurt October 30, 2019

The Quick-Kill Mouse Trap is a smart idea. I have used many of the old traditional wooden mouse traps before and they are generally effective and cheap. However, the old wooden traps always had 2 major negatives for me: (1) They are very sensitive when being set and can easy spring closed when unintended; and (2) The bait can be pulled by mice from the plate without triggering the trap (to compensate for this, I would often glue the bait to the plate). These Quick-Kill traps solve those 2 negatives of the wooden traps. The Quick-Kill trap is very easy to set with little pressure required and the danger of a false trigger is very low. Second, there is a small bait enclosure, so securing the bait to the trap is not a problem. A potential negative is that they cost a bit more than the wooden traps...with the wooden traps, you could just throw the mouse away with the trap if you want to. Given these cost a bit more, you'll want to keep the traps and unhinge the mice. I just received the traps and set them, so it is early to validate the long-term effectiveness at this time, but so far I am impressed. Bottom line recommend as it is easy to set..

Cold weather necessity

Suzanne October 25, 2019

I'm familiar with the Victor name for rodent control but I must say these Quick-Kill Mouse Traps are the easiest traps for me to set without fear of getting my fingers hurt and the design makes using it just simply easy. One thing to always remember is it's important to always wear gloves when setting the traps to keep the 'human' scent off of the traps, but even more important to wear gloves when releasing a carcass from the trap to avoid disease and germs. Victor says you can dispose of or keep the traps, your choice, and if you do keep the traps, it's a good idea to wash off any uh, remains of the victim, and you can do that with just dish soap and water and let them dry. And again, remember to handle the traps with gloves on. I spent a bit of wasted time because I handled some traps without gloves and didn't catch a one. Those little critters are pretty smart and crafty themselves. The colder weather makes mouse trapping necessary in my area and I'll be putting these out in my mom's garage this year and monitoring them for her as well. I can't really say how good they are but I'm expecting them to do the job they're meant to do with good results, for me and my mom, not for the mice.

Great trap

Hunnies01 November 6, 2019

I received this item as a Spark reviewer. It's easy to bait and set. It didn't take long before I caught my first mouse. In the past, I would just throw the trap in the garbage because I didn't want to mess around with taking the mouse out. This trap releases the mouse nicely. Highly recommend.

Kind of Creepy

swabelife October 23, 2019

WE dont have mice problems inside the house but Ive seen one along the shed every once in a while. I placed this outside and of the squirrels got caught. Good thing it was just a tip and it was able to free itself after it saw me walking towards it. I now placed it inside the shed so only the target will be targeted.
