Victor Solar Powered Sonic Spike

I have used this type of solar spike before; however, not sure it was a Victor. We live in the country, and the past few years we all have been overridden with moles. We did not have luck with the first solar spike we used, but that was several years ago. Might be because there were so many moles wrecking havoc on all of our yards. This season we have had tremendous rains and have not yet seen a mole trail; however, I placed the solar spike in an old run and have not seen any new runs yet. I love that it's solar and totally safe for our 6 dogs. One would think the dogs would keep the moles away; however, they are totally uninterested in doing their job. I am very hopeful we have gotten rid of the little critters.

The spike is easy to insert in the yard. You do have to make a start so you don't break it but I just used a wooden spike. I like that it's solar powered and works up to 7,500 sq ft of area. I do have sandy soil so it said it might not conduct the sonic waves easily but so far no more dirt mounds in the yard. Before inserting in the ground be sure and turn the switch on the bottom side to on otherwise you can't read which side is on and off. Have tried other methods and they don't work very well for the long term, hopefully this will. Just have to be careful when mowing the lawn so you don't run over it. If having mole/gopher problems, I would try this product.

I can truthfully say, that I am very happy with with the Victor Sonic sticks. I do not have any moles, but I tried it to see if it will work on all rodents.. I have been seeing mice droppings because they are coming from the neighbor's dried palm tree. I monitor the area where I usually see the droppings and, after three days I believe it works on mice as well... Three D batteries are needed and the sonic started beeping immediately, not continuously but like a few seconds between beeps, which proves that it's working.

Victor's mole and gopher sonic spike is an easy way to try and repel animals from burrowing into your yard. My house backs up to the woods so we constantly have a variety of animals running through the yard and trying to find new homes for themselves. The sonic spike seems like it will help repel the moles and gophers from making tunnels through the yard. After putting the spike in the ground and letting it get some sun light, I walked close to it and could hear it making a buzzing and vibrating sound. You can hear that it is doing what it is supposed to do and vibrating the ground to repel the animals. Make sure before inserting into the ground that you follow the instructions and make a pilot hole. The spike is well made, however it is plastic and just shoving it in the ground could cause it to break. I put the spike next to my shed in hopes that it will deter the animals from making a home under it. The spike is solar powered so as long as you put it in an area that gets sunlight it will do its job!

Was delivered in a nice box no damage. Took it out turn in and put it in my garden and so far I have not seen any more chipmunks. It makes a screeching noise that must scare them away. But I like the product is working so far really good on my garden. I would definitely purchase more of these. All you have to do is turn it And it's solar powered so you never have to look at it again and it seems to work.

Looking forward to giving this a try this spring.The creatures have raised heck on my lawn and in garden for years now.Turned unit on and when it made noise I could feel the vibration in my hand.Directions on box state clay soil best conductor of sound,my soil is gravely under topsoil so will make a large hole about a foot wide and fill with clay soil to give unit best chance of doing its job.Do like the fact its solar so no batteries to worry about.And made by a well known company gives hope this will help to rid my yard of these pests.

This product is pretty cool.. just take out of the box and put into the ground. It is small enough to fit in small spaces. The color of it is green so it kinda camouflages in the grass. Have not seen any more wildlife running on the power lines. I have had it placed for about a week. Working. I would reccomend this product.

This mole and gopher sonic spike works well in the garden. It definitely drives the gophers away and right outside the sonic perimeter you can see all the holes. This doesn't kill them it just moves them to another area of your yard. I put a green stake next to mine so that nobody trips over it or I don't forget about it I can always located it in the garden. I sure wish it killed them.

Moles and gophers can really make a mess of your lawn. They leave so many holes, it makes it hard to mow your grass because the lawnmowers wheels keep hitting holes. I feel that the Victor's Mole and Solar Spike's are a very good idea. Once installed, they take care of the rest. It doesn't cost anything to charge them, the sun does that for free. The Victor Sonic Spike came in a two pack of sonic spike that repels both moles and gophers. Each spike measures about 11 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. Each sonic spike requires three D batteries which are not included. Instructions are written on the back on of the packaging and are easy to follow. Once the batteries were installed the sonic spikes are ready to use. I immediate heard one long sonic blast that indicated that the spikes were ready. Then the sonic spikes gave a repeated intermittent sonic sound that did not appear to bother my dog. I then proceeded to dig an 11-inch hole into the location that I wanted the spike. Once the hole was ready, I placed the Victor Sonic Spike into the hole and surrounded it with dirt until I could only see the yellow top of the spike. I wanted to be able to find the spike again. Once completely buried, I noticed that I could still hear the repeated sonic sound coming from the spike. I then went into my house and opened a bottom floor window. While in my house, I could still hear the repeated sonic sound coming from the spike. I then proceeded to my second floor and opened my bedroom window and realized that I could still hear the repeated sonic sound. This concerns me, since during the Fall and Spring seasons I leave my windows open. This repeated sonic sound will keep me up at nights. I have been using the Victor Sonic Spike for a week and have not seen any moles in my garden.
