These are inexpensive yet effective mouse traps. I’m impressed with the newer bait area that makes it easy to bait and latch. I used peanut butter. It’s an improvement over victors older mousetraps. I knew we had a mouse in our garage and when I found droppings on my kitchen counter I knew it was time to get traps. I bought a variety of traps and this one right here caught one the first night. I set out a variety in my kitchen and garage, glue traps, easy set, etc, but this one seems the best for the money and if you don’t want to empty it it’s cheap enough to toss in the garbage. And it doesn’t suffer. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with any I catch with the glue traps, so I like that this is immediate. Highly recommended.
We moved to a house in the woods. Our first winter we had no idea what to expect and ended up with mice in the attic. My husband went out and bought a bunch if Victor traps and set them up inbthe attic. The first night we caught at least 4. He disposed of the mice and reset the traps. Over the course of a week we caught all of them and now we leave traps in the attic year round to prevent what happened our first year in our home. Its been 4 years now and we still use Victor traps. While we still get a mouse here and there it's not a major issue. Just something to be expected living in the woods. We use Victor because we trust their brand and know it works. When it comes to mice in the house I don't want to take any chances. I know that if the mouse steps on the victor trap it will kill it fast and efficiently. These are the traps we trust and will continue to use. Great product.
I set these mouse traps out in the barn and caught a mouse the first night. I think the bait that comes on the traps has a scent that really attracts the mice. I like that the bait comes on the traps so I do not have to rebait them every few days. Looks like these traps are made well and will last a long time. Great product.
This mouse trap is very successful. We have had a mouse problem in our garage and have used various traps, and these are by far the most successful, the difference is the large “cheese” platform. Still easy to operate, and by far a great improvement!
These work very fast. We'd been having a problem with a little friend who seemed to keep finding his way into the kitchen. I'd tried other methods, but they didn't work. so I decided on something more permanent. This took less than an hour to capture him. Must be the cheesy flavor. I'd suggest this for those hard to get pests.
I always buy these. The sensitive setting works great. I always use peanut butter. I always catch a mouse. I would have to say the only negative is the nervous feeling you get when you set them and place them down. You never know when they are going to snap. They sure know how to kick the adrenaline into gear. You don’t know that rush until you have set one of these.
I saw a mouse running in the garage, so Igot a pair of these. I put some peanut butter, they didn't catch anything. Then i added a piece of pop tart on top of the peanut butter so it stick, and caught 2 (and saw another one running) within the following 30minutes. I also got one of those sitickys pads And one that looks like a triangle, this is the only one that worked.
I didn't notice it at first, but on either side of the bait tray are the words "FIRM" and "SENSITIVE." The bait tray is what sets Victor Easy Set mouse traps apart from the original version, which they still make. The yellow plastic bait tray has holes in it like Swiss cheese, and is scented, but to be more appealing you can add bait to the tray. It's up to you to figure what seems tasty to the little critters. It should be something that sticks to the tray, like peanut butter or cheese spread. I received these free from Walmart's Spark reviewer program in exchange for an honest review. I set the traps in our hay shed for about a week but there were no mice in there so naturally I didn't catch any. So I proceeded to test them by dropping mini marshmallows and cotton balls from different heights. I found that dropping the item on the outer end of the bait tray, farthest from the spring, gave it more leverage and set it off easier. So that would be the best place to put any bait. Maximum sensitivity is achieved by placing the "arm bar" closer to the word "SENSITIVE." This also makes it a bit touchy to set, but gives the best chance of actually catching a mouse. If you're reading this review on laptop or desktop there should be photos showing the position of the arm bar for the firm and sensitive settings. It might require a magnifying glass to see the raised letters on the bait tray. I rated this at five stars because it gives a choice of maximum sensitivity, which I think is an improvement over the "original" Victor mouse trap, which is not as sensitive as it used to be.
I live in the country and have nice in the barn I placed both of these traps with different bait on each on One and placed them in places where there was evidence of mice, also put out other types of traps and the only one that Had not caught any mice was these traps although the did take the bait I put on them.
HORRIBLE! If I could give a negative review, these would get one. The "new" catch on the hook keeps the mice 'safe'. It doesn't unhook like the originals, and they're able to sit and nibble til it's gone and wait for me to refill it. Or it snaps as they're walking away and their fat bellies bumped it. Or when they were laughing as they yanked it to alert me it needs refilled.
