[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to set up and connect, overall this is an incredible turntable. The sound quality is incredible, even after trying it on multiple devices it still sounds great. I love the light blue color that helps it stand out. It's built very well and I can tell will hold up its great sound for a long time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this turntable. The assembly of the turntable was very easy and within 15 minutes I was able to assemble the turntable, connect to the app and connect to the house Sonos system. I did have to connect the ethernet cable between the Sonos router and the turntable which allowed for system update to take place making for easy setup. The quality of the sound is great and you are able to control the volume locally or via Sonos app. The hunter green color of the turntable adds a bold and modern touch to the sound system and surly draws attention making it a conversational centerpiece. There is also a dust cover that fits over the important components of the table. Overall very happy with this turntable and can't wait to use it next time we have friends over.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Victrola Stream Onyx is a neat device for vinyl enthusiasts like me that want to bridge the gap between the record collection and the Sonos speaker system setup. I like the main selling point which is the ability to stream vinyl albums directly to Sonos speakers via Wi-Fi. I also like that it comes with a bundled cartridge, where the primary factors influencing the audio experience is the Wi-Fi network's strength and the quality of the Sonos speakers. However, there are some trial and error during the initial setup process, whereby the RCA connection is not entirely reliable. Other than that, I think the Stream Onyx is a niche product that fills a specific need group of users that already has the Sonos speaker system setup.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a user, I'm incredibly impressed with the Victrola Stream Onyx Turntable. Setting it up was a breeze with the Victrola Stream app, and it connected to my Sonos system in seconds. The sound quality is phenomenal, rich, clear, and full of depth thanks to the premium cartridge and aluminum tonearm. I love the sleek, modern design and the illuminated volume knob that lets me control playback directly from the turntable. Whether I'm playing 33 1/3 or 45 rpm records, it delivers a smooth, vibrant listening experience throughout my home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Slow down & spin a little magic Our new Victrola turntable has completely changed the vibe at home. It pairs in seconds with our Sonos (and honestly, any Bluetooth speaker you've got) — then the music just flows. Our old turntable was always a struggle. The design fits perfectly with our mid-century living room, but it's the sound that really gets me… warm, rich, and full of those little vinyl textures that make you just sink into the moment. No rush. No stress. Just music, a comfy chair, and the soft crackle of a record. Sometimes the best way to unwind is to drop the needle and let the day melt away.
Opened it, gorgeous was the first impression. WOO I followed the instructions, it connected wirelessly to sonos in the app during initial install (that is why you're buying this right to connect to sonos, because there are a lot of options much cheaper if you are not connecting directly to sonos and hoping to do so WIRELESSLY). Tv volumes going, you put a record on it overtakes the sound on the tv starts playing the record. I took the record off, hoping it'd change instantly, then i changed the tv channel and about that time the onyx light turned off and sound returned from tv (at most 2-3 mins total and exact reasoning it changed still undetermined). i only bought this cause my wife wanted one and I didn't want to fight the install process with sonos, Mission Accomplished you can do this in 15 mins from unboxing to sonos connection. I will with sincere honesty say It sounds better than streaming a song from your phone, the sound is more rich and commanding of your attention. plus you get to start a record collection of those trusted favorites from back in the day.
I'll be honest, I kind of hate this thing. I purchased it just over one year ago, looking forward to having an easy to use record player to connect to my audio system in my house via Bluetooth. When it works, it's great. Howeve, it seems that 80% of the time that I try to use it, it won't connect to the system (other BT devices don't have this issue); the result is usually my becoming very frustrated that it doesn't work when I want to sit down and relax with some vinyl. Not ideal. It would be great if there was a dedicated pairing button, the single dial doesn't provide any assistance, the volume function is non-functional (admittedly, I don't care about that, I just control volume on the system), and the various flashing lights are frustratingly unhelpful. I tried a physical connection between the player and my system to no avail, I think it worked once but has since been lack luster at best. The app is atrocious, IF it connects, it takes ages, and forget about reconnecting quickly (this seems to be the theme). All in all, this is a device that should allow you to step back a moment in time and relax to some vinyl, playing via Bluetooth to your audio system of choice; and this product continues to leave me frustrated and going back to using Spotify and just streaming instead.
I've now ordered and sent back my Stream Onyx twice. Don't get me wrong, the turntable works and looks great. The unboxing is a joy. Connection to my Sonos is a breeze. But in both cases the foil wrapping has come loose and bubbles near the bottom right of the platter. For a turntable in this league as far as price is concerned, I'd expect quality control at production to have spotted it. Third time lucky? I'm not chancing it...
If you want to mess with the app for 5-10 minutes before the record plays then this is the turntable for you. If you want the record to play immediately don't buy this one. Relying on WiFi and the Victoria App in order to play a vinyl record is a big pain, not worth. I regret this purchase.
Heavy background hum that doesn't seem to ever go away.
