Video Artists Int'l - Peter Pan [DIGITAL VIDEO DISC]

I've been waiting a long time for the original Peter Pan to be put on dvd. I would watch it every year on TV. Thanks a bunch.

This is still the best version of Peter Pan. My grandkids love it as much as I do.

It's not a "movie" it's a LIVE BROADCAST of the stage musical. It was broadcast in black and white, once in 1955 and once in 1956. Mary Martin reprised the role in 1960, and this was broadcast in color, and this version has been shown on TV several times, though never annually like the Wizard of OZ. This is a classic, too bad the quality is poor - I understand it was not saved on movie or "video" tape but a much older process. Still, NO ONE embodied Peter like Mary Martin!!!

I guess it was a year or so ago that I watched an updated version of the stage play, "Peter Pan" on television, and though I enjoyed it, it made me remember my childhood when "Peter Pan" with Mary Martin and Cyril Richard was televised once a year (as was "The Wizard of Oz") and I so wanted to see my favorite Captain Hook again and the cast I grew up with...and grew old remembering. I haven't been able to watch it yet, but just looking at the cover brings back the joy of that crowing little boy who refused to grow up. I was so happy to have found a copy on DVD. Thank you.

When I was a little girl I was allowed to stay up late on a school night so I could watch this program. I went around "crowing" for days. Mary Martin has been a favorite actress my whole life. This program is a piece of my childhood I am happy to revisit.

I enjoyed it as much as I did when I saw the ORIGINAL broadcast on television back in the '50's. It was the first time they ever played a broadway musical on tv. And the DVD recreated the memories all over again. I had my son and grandkids watch it with me and they loved it also. Thanks

Obviously I didn't read the description thoroughly in the catalog. I thought I was ordering the 1950's color version of the movie that used to be broadcast every Christmas when I was a child. I was disappointed to see that it was the black and white version. My grandchildren were a bit disappointed, too. But, they watched it. I should have read the description more carefully.
