I have a shepherd who had the black plaque build up on his teeth. I started giving him one of these every few days and noticed an improvement in his teeth very quickly! The build up has chipped off and is now completely gone from most of his teeth and is not coming back thanks to continued use. He loves these as a treat and gets excited as soon as I grab the bag. We have used this for our dogs for years and the vet confirms that tartar is at a minimum. On rare occassion some of the chews look old and are very hard, not sure why there would be defective chews there.
