Easy to use and effective
This product kills fleas to my satisfaction and is the only item I will buy for my home.
it works, but need a larger size
I love this product. It does what it says it does.
Repeat purchase. This spray is safe for my pets beds and play areas.
To be fair, I meant to get the knockdown E.S. (extra strength) version which contains a different formulation, instead of this one. However, this product costs way more than it should, considering there is a product Walmart sells called "Durvet igr no-bite flea and tick spray," which has identical active ingredients, in the same percentages, and costs significantly less. And this Virbac area spray contains petroleum distillates, which can end up leaving a residue on hard surfaces, and smells much worse than the Durvet spray, which is water-based. The propellants used in this spray smell something similar to acetone to me. Yes, the odor does eventually dissipate. On hard surfaces that were anything other than very lightly misted, you may notice a sticky, tacky feel to them, and you might even see a whiteish residue. It can possibly affect waxed hard surfaces if over sprayed. As far as effectiveness goes, the spray works OK when still wet to kill adult fleas, but once dried it quickly seems to lose its effectiveness, and would need to be resprayed much sooner than the label states. It is supposed to have some residual killing power after drying, but doing a little research has taught me that the two active knockdown ingredients (for the adult fleas) start to lose their killing power fairly quickly after drying. In my experience, if the fleas contact the spray while it is wet they are very likely to die within hours. Supposedly (according to Google) with the two knockdown ingredients in this spray it can take 6 to 24 hours for an adult flea to die after contacting the wet spray. But once dried, it isn't nearly as effective for killing them quickly. Fleas may leave the area and die somewhere at some point later, but all I know is that we continue to have adult biting fleas jumping around the area that was sprayed at least 24 hours prior. Yes, you will find dead ones from the previous day's spraying, but there could also be adults that seem completely unaffected still jumping around the next day. I cannot speak to the longevity or effectiveness of the igr yet. I also have no idea how it works for a ticks. But as an added bonus, roaches, fruit flies, house flies, and maybe other nuisance insects DO seem affected by it!
Good stuff. Handle with caution and get on top of the problem
it seemed to reduce the number of fleas, but two treatments were needed.
this is a difficult endeavor to try to delice everything that your cat has touched. expensive
