Soooooo IDK man but during a record season of outbreaks, cold sores every 2-3 weeks I somehow came across this and something magical happened. I have not had a cold sore for almost 2 years. I used this device 2-3 times per day for about a month. I have gotten that little tingle a few times but I take my cold sore pills (valacyclovir) and the little gremlins never see the light of day. I also want to add that I took up intermittent fasting. Means no food, zero calories for 12-18 hours everyday during this time. Lots of water. So maybe it was the combination or who knows. But I am cold sore free now! I credit everything to Jesus because He (wont go into details) led me to this device.

The best otc cold sore treatment available is Virulite. I had a terrible month of outbreaks last year, and I cried more than once. Each time I thought it was over, a new sore popped up. (And, trust me. I’m super careful when I have a sore.) The creams weren’t working, and isopropyl alcohol and hydrogen peroxide weren’t helping at all. This came in the mail just after Christmas, a month in to the outbreak and 5 days into the most recent sore. My ordeal was over 4 days later. That’s huge for me. Typically, when I get a sore, it will last for 2 weeks solid. This actually worked! It has also contributed to keeping me cold sore free for a full year! Whenever I feel that foreboding sting, I whip out the Virulite, and presto! No sores. No tears! No pain!

I bought this with skeptical hope. While it does not make a cold sore disappear at the first sign, I believe it did shorten the entire discomfort time of the cold sore. It was blistered/scabbed, and gone within days, rather than the full 10 days they usually run so this was worth purchasing. If I feel a tingle, I quickly add the light. Sometimes, the next day it is already 'dried' and disappearing.

It's okay. Not sure if it works or not. Too expensive for what it is. Can get a infrared light bulb for skin care for less than $40 and it also has red led light therapy with the infrared.

I got a cold sore right after I bought this and used it immediately when I noticed I had it..I did not notice the difference in healing time..I will give it another try, next time...maybe I didn't start the treatment fast enough..It is hard to know if it is working, because you do not see any light coming from it when the timer is activated. I emailed the company and got no response..so that is disappointing..it cost close to $90..

will only beep once when I initially turn it on. I emailed to see if that was how it was supposed to work (I replaced the battery and everything that the website said and it still worked the same). Never got a response so I can't tell you how it works because it hasn't really worked for me.

I bought this a while back to have it handy for the day that dreaded cold sore was coming. I opened it recently and it didn't work!! I can't return it because I bought it over a year ago. Way too much money spent on something that is worthless.
