Vita Flex Pro MSM Quality Joint Supplement for Horses White 4 Pounds

After 2+ years of "mystery" lameness, my 16-year-old horse was finally diagnosed with a sore stifle. I give him Omega-3 oils for his coat and MSM, probably 4-5 times a week. He is 100% sound, jumps and moves smoothly. It costs nearly nothing. Before you splurge on an expensive battery of hylauronic acid, chondroitan, glucosamine, etc., try MSM first. I swear by it.

For our 30 year old Arab with "moon blindness", an auto-immune disease. He was furiously fighting the eye drops to treat it, so our vet recommended we try MSM. Less than a year later he's had NO reoccurrence of the disease, and his annual checkup in April showed his eyes are much clearer and his vision has improved. I have started giving it to all our other horses (all rescued, BTW) because they are all in their teens and 20's. At SmartPak's price I can do this without killing my budget!

Started a month ago. My QH isn't gimping in the front anymore and we put my 9 yr old POA just because the kid and he run a lot. Tolerating well. For the price and the fact that the gimping which comes and goes for week at a time has gone I'd say we have success as it's been a month without it

I have an older (teens) Dutch WB gelding who had EPM as a youngster. He is also large 17+hh. As a result he is stiff on his left side though his neck as well as in his left stifle. After about a month on this pure form of MSM I saw a big difference in him. He was much more flexible in his neck to the left and right as well as willing to track up and use his hind end more. He also eats it right up!

My vet told me to get "pure MSM...not full of other stuff" for my mare's ongoing joint and foot pain. This was a great value and easy to add to my Smart Pack. It has made a real difference over time for my mare, but she likes it mixed with other feed to disguise the taste a bit.

My gelding is perfectly sound but has had residual swelling in an ankle from an old injury. After reading reviews, I decided to try MSM for its anti-inflammatory properties. He's only been on this supplement for a few weeks, but I do see a difference--the swelling has gone down a bit. I figured it can't hurt to try it based on reviews, research, and its reasonable price.

Maybe I expected too much from this, but after 3 months, I saw no difference in the horse I put this on ... He's a former race horse that I purchased from a kill pen ... he had EPM and severe stifle issues. After a series of treatments, the vet recommended MSM as a maintenance supplement that would help with stiffness and inflammation. didn't see any changes in the horse I bought this for. I will continue feeding until it's gone. If any improvement is made, I may by another bucket, but only because it's relatively inexpensive. Thinking of trying another product instead.

I started my retired qh gelding on this product a few months ago. I was hoping it would aid in keeping his joints comfortable and helping with his respiratory health (he has heaves). However, this product made him extremely gassy. He's not usually a gassy horse, and rarely have I heard audible farts from him. Being on this product he farts constantly and loudly and just seemed uncomfortable in general. He's not a sensitive horse, and has never had any significant digestive upset up until using this product. I did some research online and found a few other people who said the Vitaflex MSM made their horses gassy and colicky too. Just something to be aware of if you're considering this product.
