I have a nervous gelding who generally is very good unless he panics and then he is a nervous wreck. When separating from other horses he is not focused on me and has high anxiety. I tried SmartCalm Ultra and it didn't make much of a difference. He's only been on this a week and I feel like I already can tell a significant difference! I will update later on when he's been on it longer!
My mare always seemed stressed about something. After feeding Vision for a month now, I have seen a big difference in her attitude on the trail or just when I'm brushing her up. She seems more calm and more intent on focusing her attention to my quiet handling of her. Being an older rider in my sixties now I needed a quiet and focused horse, even though I have had horses all my life -- quiet and focused is a pleasure. : ) Vision has given me that horse in a mare I extremely enjoy being around.
I have an extremely active 6 year old Warmblood who is full of life or ie likes to run everywhere in the field. He had stifle surgery and had been stall bound for 4 weeks, limited turnout for another 4 weeks so needless to say he was a nut. Yes even on ace, looking at his belly in my face was not a pleasant experience. I had tried other calming supplements with minimal results. After 4 days on Vision I feel safe handling my horse, at 9:30 last night with zero ace he was standing relaxed in the crossties while I cleaned his stall. What a huge difference! Vision has worked miracles by taking the edge off of this cooped up boy, I can honestly say I am in love with this product! He isn't sleepy he is alert but mellowed out so that he is more manageable and hopefully less likely to re injure himself.
I have a 7 yo OTTB. He isn't hot, or high anxiety. But he can be extremely stubborn and spooky/ADD. I have noticed him to be more focused on training and much less spooks! I can load him on a trailer by myself now. He's just a more willing partner. He has been a dream at shows. He stands calmly and really seems to enjoy it, and not drowsy at all. I have also used Perfect prep for shows and trailering. (like a 20cc/quarter of the dose). The one time i didn't, he had nervous diarrhea. I'm a believer!
Ordered this supplement for a rescue mare with severe anxiety and trauma. Her quality of life was questionable due to her constant state of fear and inability to engage her brain to re-learn. She's been on this supplement for about 2 months now and has become playful and engaged. Huge shift in her anxiety, though she does seem a bit drugged somedays. But for this mare, I think that is almost a blessing.
After trying numerous calming supplements this seems to be the best one by far. My horse is a 15yo retired OTTB. Although he gets lots of turnout I found that the lack of being worked made him very jumpy, spooky, and increasingly difficult to handle. When he was in regular work in the past this was not an issue, but an injury last year forced his retirement. This product has brought back my easy going horse. He is no longer jumpy or spooking at things like he was. It is a bit more expensive than other supplements I have tried but I feel that the benefit more than outweighs the cost.
I only used this product for one month on a horse I just purchased. I cannot testify to how well it actually worked. However, I did not do my homework well enough and it turns out Valerian is a banned substance with USEF. So, I will not be using the product further.
I've had my mare on this for a couple months. So far she seems to have less of her "spring craziness"- our first ride outside was flawless and usually its full of prancing. I hope to see continued benefits. The only reason I'm not rating it a 4 is because she's only been on it a limited time, and i was hoping to see her a little less buddy sour after being on this supplement.
Prior to starting SmartPaks, I had my Appendix on Quietex II as a calming aid. It worked beautifully. SmartPak doesn't carry Quietex, so I tried Vision. Vision and Quietex II have the exact same ingredients and dosage listed on their labels. The exception being price. Vision is $20 more a month than Quietex. I really wanted all my supplements in SmartPaks, so I decided to give Vision a try anyway. Well, it may have the same ingredients, but it doesn't work as well as Quietex. So, I will be dropping Vision, and I will have to buy Quietex separately - which is a pain. I REALLY wish that SmartPaks would sell Quietex. It's an awesome product!
I started giving this to my mare a week and a half ago and it seems to have made her way worse... anyone else have this issue? After a week on vision, she started striking at me on a lunge line which she has NEVER done. After she gets the supplement an hour before training she acts like a stud. Yesterday she didn't get any and she was as sweet as pie. Vision does the exact opposite of what it claims.
