This is good for size and price. It is what I expected. Depending on where you are placing it, you'll want to consider that it will need to be near an edge (counter, on top of another appliance, etc) in order to have enough space to get a water bottle to fit in order to fill
This is easy to set up and it works very well to cool the water. I'm on the first jug of water so it still has a plastic taste, but it will wear off and taste pure eventually. The other girls don't taste it. Overall, it's a fantastic desk top quiet little unit.
Works perfectly. Light to carry. Portable. Cold and regular water. Fits 3 size water bottles, so now instead of carting around big 15 litre jugs. Take 5 litre water bottles. Had a bottom loader before this. Started leaking. Very heavy to move around.
Bought this a month ago to replace one of a different make that failed after about 6 years. This one works better in almost every way. It has a square base that fits on the countertop better than a round one. The dispensing valves pivot smoothly and quietly, big improvement. The Cold water dispenses faster and also allows the air to feed more freely into the bottle, as opposed to restricting the air flow into the bottle and turning the very light plastic recyclable 15 liter ones into a deformed witches' hats. It has no power switch which I initially found strange until I realized that it's like a refrigerator ... It runs all the time so it doesn't need one. Recovery time is fairly quick and temperature in the correct range at about 8 deg C.
So Far So good! I like that it's small. I've never had a water cooler, so this was a great first start, to see if we'd even use it. We've guzzled through 10 gallons of water since setting it up, so I'd say that's a good sign! 10 gallons of healthy water that would have been iced tea or lemonade... It does take a while to refill if you use more than about a 1litre of cold water, but it hasn't been a big deal for us. If we were having a whole party of people here, I'd want something faster, but it's good. I'm guessing that we'll use it until it dies and if we're still enjoying it, we'll replace it with one that can make ice cubes as well. But for now, it's certainly worth the $74, I paid for it.
I purchased this item about a month ago. I followed the internal instructions on cleaning prior to use, so I'm a little taken aback that the water it dispenses all tastes like metal. Once I finish with this bottle of water I will reclean the unit, but suspect that this is the way it is.
Easy to set up however it takes the better part of an hour to cool the water on a full tank. Also, the water had a horrible taste to it even when I washed out the tank as the instructions stated. It was like a moldy taste or the taste of metal. I had to drain a whole 18L bottle of (store bought) water to get something that was remotely drinkable. Having used it for the past 5 days, the taste still remains a little "skunky". I will test it for a few more days then return it if it is still bad tasting. Not impressed.
Upon set up, the cold water would not dispense at all. Whoever manufactured this product forgot to remove the orange stopper from the tube on the inside of the unit. After taking the unit apart and removing the stopper the cold water worked! Yay! Not really...the water smells and tastes like PLASTIC! Make sure to purchase the kind that has a metal tank, not one that is made from non-food grade plastic! I'm all set with carcinogens in my water. DO NOT BUY!
Feels very low quality and flimsy. Everything is made of cheap plastic and smells bad. I don't feel safe storing my water in it. The flow of room temperature water is too slow and the cool water is even slower! The cooling function is pretty loud. The LED lights are way too bright; hurts my eyes when I see them at night. The buttons are very hard to push and creak. I'd rather keep pouring water out of a huge jug than use this.
