Vitapur® Water Filtration Bottle System for Top-Load Water Dispensers, Black

I love the fact of not having to buy the 5 gallon water bottles and lifting them up anymore.. It used to hurt my shoulders. With this i just flip the top open and fill with my water which i am double filtering since i have a rainsoft house system.. but this allows me to have cold water, where the rainsoft is just room temp. I will say we had a little trouble fitting it to our existing water cooler base... but i attribute this to hubbys lack of reading the directions first ... ( insert eye rolll here )... so after over 15 gallons of water leaked on the floor and across the kitchen then he got out the instructions and found out it would work with our base but only if you take the top insert out that is for the 5 gallon bottles... ps if it doesnt fit on there snug it is not on right and needs attention... when it was sitting and leaking it was up in the air and was like a bobble head and unsteady. I was skeptical at first since once you take out the top piece on the cooler it is just a big open hole ... but surprisingly it works great . We are using it on a daily basis and love it... Also side tip if they say dont go over this line ... ahem... try not to because it makes it a little unstable and easier to topple ... and dont have the top and bottom completely full at the same time because it doesnt stop filtering and it will start a waterfall out the middle where the two pieces meet... Dont ask me how i know ( hides face).... oh and his sister lives in town and has city water and this really seems to help her as well with the chlorine and bleach and other smells that come through... it doesnt get rid of all of it but a lot of it where it is actually drinkable now at her house. so now i fill it instead of hubby or the kids .. and it is working flawless :) enjoy

I bought this filtration system few weeks ago. It works great. The filtration rate is fast enough to fill up the base unit very quickly. Water taste great because most of the minerals are untouched. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Filters out good tasting water. Setup was easy. In packaging, they place the top bowl into the bottom bowl (I guess to reduce package size). Although each peice was bagged separate, it was very difficult to wiggle them apart.

I live in a town with awful tasting water, full of chlorine and other awful tasting stuff. I thought this would be good for my drinking water and for making tea and coffee. It's been a month and the water still has a smell to it after its stood for a while in a glass. I like having a glass of water next to my bed when I sleep. While it's cold you dont notice the taste and smell too much but once its room temperature it has off putting smell. I have a Zero filter jug and the water from that tastes perfect. I also used my water quality tester in a glass of water from each one. The water from the Zero jug shows 0, 00. The vitapur water shows 1,22. So the water from the vitapur filtration system is not that good especially since it's new,it should be reading much less than that. About 0.09 would acceptable. Not too impressed with vitapur.
