In the ten days they have been out, twenty vines borer moths were caught. At first it was the brightly colored ones, followed by many of the darker ones with the weird tails. My squash are doing fine and I'm about to plant succession starters here in mid-July. Pictured is after three days before I put out the second trap. Rain weakens them, but they still work.
started catching male moths as expected within a few days of setting out the traps. Seems to have helped decrease the damage to my squash vines. only downside is they do last longer if protected from rain. It would be nice if they were more rain resistant.
These traps have really helped to control the Squash Vine Borer that was very prevalent in my garden last year. My kids love to watch their pumpkins grow and they have so many more now than they did before I started using these traps. I love that it works for both squash and pumpkin plants. My garden isn't very large so I only use 1 trap at a time. Definitely going to get more!
I ordered the traps in a panic when I first saw Squash Vine Borer Moths hoping it would help. It did, it worked like champ. The moths head straight for the trap. Simple packaging made it easy to put together. Walmart had it here fast. I'll keep these in stock for for the rest of the year and next spring.
I can't wait to trap these nasty moths and send them to their demise. No longer are they going to destroy my eggplants, squash, cucumbers, or pumpkins. I also have other things to deploy to eliminate their existence.
Trapped a lot of vine borer moths. My curcubits did a lot better than usual after using the trap. Next year will have one on hand to start using earlier.
These work great for trapping the squash vine borers! They actually work!
Caught one of those SVB pests within minutes of hanging. Caught 5 so far this week. It works. The only downside is that it's made of heavy duty coated paper. This week has been very rainy (heavy rain almost daily) and I fear that it's not going to last as long as I'd hoped. I wish it was heavier-duty, but it is exactly as described.
This is a sticky trap which did not catch a single squash vine borer. I planted lots of squash varieties this year and they were all decimated by SVB.
Caught a couple of moths but missed many, many others. Still had to remove eggs (and borers) from my squash plants.
