The VIZIO D50-D1 has a nice looking picture. Works well receiving broadcast stations with an antenna. The sound is mediocre, but I think that is true of all TV's in this class. The only negative is that the selection of Apps available is limited compared to other brands. It includes an Amazon App for movies and TV shows, but does not include the apps that Fire TV Stick has.
I have never been happier with a purchase in my life! The picture quality is second to none and the sound is amazing. I was so used to watching adult films on my phone I had forgotten how good they were now. The frame rate makes this TV a Best buy for sure. Makes me feel like I'm right there in the action.
Decided to finally treat my family for a new tv for Christmas this year. When it arrived, I couldn't wait and gave it to them early. Was easy to set up and program. Just make sure you have a stand that will hold a tv this size, with alittle room to spare. Very happy with my decision to purchase. All my shows seem so much better now.
I bought this TV because the bulb in the other TV I had blew out and couldn't get fixed - so it was time for an upgrade! For the price, I'm very satisfied with everything. The picture looks great (though slightly fuzzy if you sit too close to the TV, which was only really seen while it was being set up, since I don't sit close to it. Thought I'd mention it, though)! The sound quality is great, but it a little different if you're not used to it because the speaker are behind the TV, so if that bothers you, then buying a sound bar will work wonders. The one thing that really blew me away was that the TV arrived in one piece (which was a worry of mine, seeing how many others across the site had gotten their broken). All things considered, it's a great TV for the price and video games are as fun as ever to play with such HD beauty!
So glad I ran across this TV while looking at options for a new TV. Cannot beat the price and features for a smart TV. Free delivery to store, and set up was a breeze. Picture and sound are great as well. (I already had a sound bar so not sure about sound without one). This is my 3rd Vizio and I could not be happier.
Picture is clear and the sound is good. Also, in order for me to get my Netflix to work, make sure that you have enough Internet speed. If you have enough speed and still not getting Netflix or the other programs, please contact Vizio in order to upgrade tv programming because you don't know how long the tv has been sitting in the box. I was informed by Netflix, who gave me customer service number for Vizio that Vizio upgrades there programming on their tvs every so often. Vizio upgraded our tv and now our Netflix and other smart channels work.
This is my 3rd Vizio flat panel TV, my first LED model. In every way it's perfect with the exception of the placement of the plug-ins to attach HDMI and Coaxial Cable. I'm used to the cables going straight in and this model you have to insert HDMI cables vertically behind a barrier so had a hard time attaching cables but other than that the TV is perfect. Like the Smart Apps but have gotten used to going thru my Blu-ray to use Apps. I did try the Netflix App and switched to the App in my Blu-ray as the picture was way better. Not sure why the App didn't work too well. I would almost suspect I needed to attach the TV to an Ethernet cable but then that would defeat the wireless capability. No matter though. I have another Vizio E series in the living room that I finally bought the Amazon Fire TV for it because I was having too much trouble with the Apps in the TV not working and I got tired of having to shut everything off in the house to reset an Smart App. That's a draw back with Comcast's Xfinity service and having the router built into the modem. I may eventually buy another Fire TV for my new TV but for the time being the Apps set up in my Blu-ray player do the job. Over all I am really happy with the TV. Love the 50" screen and the colors watching the 2016 Summer Olympics from Rio are just spectacular. This TV was priced about the same as the 40" Vizio I replaced with this new one and I thought that was just super. Overall I gave this TV 4 stars only because of the awkwardness of the placement of the plugins for the cables in the back. Except for that this TV is 5 star all the way.
Great TV, this is my second Vizio and have always been satisfied. Was delivered quickly and it looks great. 3 HDMI inputs, built in wireless, sound is better than previous models. Very happy. The reasons it didn't get five stars: Built in app selection is limited, no HBOgo for instance or support for SlingTv. Apps also take a long time to load and are slow to navigate through compared to a Roku or Xbox. That said it's nice to have them at all and at this price it's all bonus. The color depth also isn't amazing, fiddling with the picture presets helps, I find "calibrated" to be the best setting but if you don't adjust this setting, streaming video quality doesn't look great, but adjusting the settings gets you 90% there. All in all very happy with the tv, criticisms are minor. Would purchase again and recommend to a friend.
I was dissappointed with this purchase . The major reason this specific tv was purchased was because it was a smart tv . The preinstalled apps I wanted to use such as Netflix, amazon, etc.. Netflix worked until something updated . Netflix said it's an issue with the tv . Vizio said it's an issue with Netflix . Bottom line is it worked for less than 2 weeks. I can watch Netflix trailers but no shows . Amazon turns my tv off when I select a show to watch . Sling which was a free trial offered thru Walmart is a joke since vizio said to use a roku or some media thing would have to be used since there's no way to add it to my tv . I have no way to return this since I can't fit it in my car . Major pain in the rear. Bad service , bad tv , bad bad bad . Whole experience leaves me feeling sickened and saddened .
This is a good TV but I could never get the apps to run even though it connects to my WIFI router. Vizio sent a repair guy out. He replaced the main and WIFI boards and still nothing. I would blame my router but everything else I have works just fine with it. I have also tried two different routers. So I remain in limbo until I hear further from Vizio. I can't recommend Vizio. I bet I have myself at least 12 man-hours in trying to get this working.
