I bought this TV for only $648 which is a good deal for a 55" 4K TV. The main reason that I bought this TV is the fact that it works so well with the Vizio SB4051 wireless surround system. There is an HDMI port on the TV that totally controls the audio system from the TV(or Comcast) remote. Most TV's have speakers on the back which will deliver poor sound and this one is no different. But with the Visio SB4051 surround system, every time I turn on the TV the surround system turns on (TV Speakers are OFF) and I have a totally integrated TV with wireless 5.1 rear surround without having to use multiple remotes. The bar graph on the TV screen actually says AUDIO SYSTEM(rather than volume). I now have 3 Vizio TV's with Soundbar/Surround systems and am very happy with the seamless interface and good picture.
Love, love, love this TV ,Yea for me. The picture is absolutely like REAL. So happy I chose this. Received it sooner than I expected, which made me happy. Thanks.
I really like all of the features included in my Vizio 55 inch 4k smart tv and there's only a few negatives. Pros: Apps pre-installed like Netflix's, Hulu and Spotify. Beautiful clarity and sound. Eat to mount. Sleek black remote. Cons: Extra unnecessary apps like tons of yahoo and other whimsical nonsense. Buttons on remote are too small and need to be easier to press like the Samsung or LG remotes. No Bluetooth compatibility for private headphone connecting.
We needed a new tv after our 9 year old one finally decided to give out on us, saw this one in the store and loved the price and the picture. We got it home and WOW - even better. The picture is amazing, the sound is great, it was super easy to hook up and you can just can't beat the quality for the price. We have had it two weeks now and have been very pleased, even hooked it up to the internet (first time we had ever done that!) and even that was super easy, gives a lot of great options. A great tv at a great price, would recommend!
[Employee of walmartcanada] I'm very surprised how well this unit performs. I've been putting it though some testing and am very pleased with this purchase. First, I primarily use this as a gaming PC monitor. The response time (latency) is quite low indeed. Moving my mouse provides near instant feedback onscreen. My PC reports this TV as having 120Hz support though I cannot say for sure if it's true 120Hz. Just throwing that out there. Be advised that you MUST use the "Gaming Low Latency" mode in the menus if you want low latency as it is not on by default. Color uniformity is also pretty decent. After viewing some solid color images I detect no major hot spots or shadows from the backlight which is a major plus if you use your TV for web browsing. The TV provides full control of any picture color and other various settings and even allows you to name and save a settings profile (kudos to the engineers on that). 4K performance is decent for the price point. The picture is sharp and well defined (depending on source material obviously) though you will need to sit closer than 6 feet to be able to appreciate it - those pixels are tiny even for a 55" screen. 1080p content will also look stunning on this unit. No, this TV doesn't have HDR support but considering the dearth of HDR content that shouldn't be an issue. One major con is that only ONE HDMI port ( #5) supports 4K @ 60FPS. All others only support 30FPS but 1080p still functions at 60FPS. If you have multiple 4K devices and wish to see 60FPS you will need a HDMI hub or risk wearing out your port by switching out the cable. The designers really went out of their way with the features in this unit even on the most seemingly insignificant thing. You should not have to worry about losing the battery cover on the remote because the entire backside of the remote comes off. The cover is literally the size of the remote itself. Try losing that! I'm still in the process of discovering everything about this TV but from what I have seen so far, I'm quite impressed and I highly recommend it if you are on the fence about 4K or just want a new budget friendly TV without having to sacrifice on some of the features of higher end TVs.
For the money, this has a great picture. It makes you feel like you are in the action. It was easy to set up.
TV looks amazing, can't wait for more 4k content to be available to really see it at peak performance.
We just love vizio Tvs! We have 5 and the Pic are so clear. I would not buy any other TV! This is the newest one.
I was ready to buy a 60", "M" series Visio that CNet mentioned as their top pick for 2 years but saw the "Roll Back" price on this one. It appeared it had all the "specs" of the other well rated series and was more of the size I wanted to replace a 42" Toshiba Regza that had suffered a power surge and died. So far, so good on this one but did have trouble getting my extended warranty registration finalized. My only issue at this point would be that I expected to get the remote with the QWERTY keyboard on the back that comes with the other series ... would have made a big difference for simplicity of entering things. I will also miss (although rarely used) the house sitter timer I had on the Regza (a $2,500.00 TV). A nice plus for the D55u-D1 is the numerous ports, both "out" and "in" making it ideal for incorporating many devices to create an entertainment "system" for a TV about 1/3rd the cost of the one it replaces
One of the easiest installs in my experience. Very non-nerdy setups. Picture quality is great, as was the price. Would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
