NicePic

UnhappyCustomr August 12, 2016

This TV has a nice picture, sound quality, and nice features. I like that it has a simple remote... It has power, volume, channel change, source change, mute, picture size change, and picture color change. Which is everything you use regularly. You can use additional features with the app. I got it when there was a special sale price, I got it for just $428... Which is a great price for such a nice, good sized TV. I would definitely recommend!

Nice display but a few caveats

Miguel February 20, 2017

This is an awesome 4k ultra hd display. Remember that it does not have a tv tuner so no coax input. Only HDMI input. If you still use coax from the wall or over the air antenna you'll need a tuner box if you don't already have one from your cable company. All in all it is a good display. I like that it has chromecast but I use ROKU so I don't really care for chromecast. Plus I don't like the fact the chromecast built-in does not have a specific remote or the apps built into the display. I don't really like using my phone or ipad to control everything. a remote is much more convenient so roku is better to attach to it instead of using chromecast. The audio is not great but I have an awesome 5.1 surround with receiver that takes care of that.

DONT LISTEN TO LOW REVIEWS

Tiffany September 25, 2017

I don't know why this tv is getting bad rating. First of all, the remote thing. You can choose at the beginning of setup if you want to use the tv remote OR the app remote. Also, the display is great. It's insanely clear and I have never been happier with a tv. The setup was EASY, I don't know how people are having issues. It is great. It's takes maybe 5-10 minutes to start up. You can connect it to WiFi, and it's just all around a great tv. HOWEVER if you're using it JUST for cable , it may not be the best thing. I'm only using this tv for Xbox. Such as games, Netflix on the actual Xbox, and YouTube as well. However it is worth the shot . If you don't like it, return it! It's a great display.

Vizio Smart E-Series 55" Class Ultra HD HDR

Paco November 28, 2017

I bought this 55" Vizio Smart Cast for my older sister. She loves the way it works and mentioned how great. Sharp as can be. She mentioned to me that it is the sharpist TV so far she's owned.

Vizio

Like it so far, only have watched for about a week. They could have put a bit more complete set of instructions, with a better schematic of the ports etc..

It's Great

Yups March 17, 2017

I have read a lot of reviews about this TV some good, some bad. The TV is great it the app for the TV is simple and works well, same with the casting. Once the color was set it looks great.

Beautiful picture

bubba August 22, 2016

I bought this Vizio on sale. I was going to put it downstairs until my old one went Kapoot. Changed my mind. It is now in my living room. A beautiful addition.

Stunning Picture

sunburntnflorida December 5, 2016

First unit arrived with cracked screen. KEEP ALL PACKING MATERAL! Exchanged for 2nd unit and after quick, easy setup found the sound was lousy. Ordered the matching 5.1 sound bar and now have a stunning picture and great sound.

Great Picture and Quality for the Money!

CoachR October 2, 2016

I bought this item about a month ago. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the picture. The upscaling makes all channels look amazingly vibrant, regardless of the broadcast quality. I was worried about judder with live sports, based on other reviews I read, but this has produced a great picture with no recognizable judder to my eyes. The only reasons I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of 1.) The speakers are not very high quality 2.) Plugging in connections when it is mounted on the wall is very difficult, so it would be nice if they were located closer to the edges, 3.) The smartcast app is not bad, but it makes it hard to add additional services so that they can be found in that app, and 4.) The Vizio support staff was not very knowledgeable about helping with issues with their GoogleCast/Chromecast features. They refer you to Google to find answers on features that they have installed. Google has no incentive to answer those questions since they are simply selling a component to Vizio, so Vizio could serve themselves well by brushing up on the technical aspects of anything they install in their T.V.s. All in all, extremely satisfied with the T.V.

Good Budget Display, but needs a better remote

David September 12, 2016

I am a big fan of Vizio TV's, owning several, and this E55uD2 display (called a display as it does not have its own tuner) which I purchased in August 2016 also delivers very good picture quality. However it needs a far more comprehensive remote control. By design the supplied remote has very limited functionality (on/off, volume, input and basic picture modes). To control the display's more advanced functions requires use of the Vizio SmartCast app which will only run on an Android or iOS device (i.e. smart phone or tablet); it will not run on a Windows laptop. Deliberately minimizing the functionality of the stand-alone remote was the manufacture's intent; they want you to control all functions via their SmartCast app, which does not run under Windows, and for me that is both inconvenient and a significant drawback.
