I've had the tv for a few weeks now and it works great. My previous TV was about 7 years old and I was due for an upgrade. This E-Series has all the bells and whistles that I needed, 4K, smart, local dimming, while being super affordable. I could not be happier with my purchase. My only complaint is that the TV only comes with 3 HDMI ports.
I bought the Vizio E55-E2 in August along with a Vizio sound bar and I am very pleased with the products. The picture and sound are great. I had a little trouble setting up the Smartcast, but the technical support was great and got me up and running. I also have two other Vizio TV's that I have had for years and have had no problems with them. I will always be a Vizio customer.
I bought this for my husband for Father's day and he loves it. He did not download the chrome cast app since we have netflix on our cable box but he loves the TV. He picture snd sound is great and I love that you don't hear the tv click on and off. This is the 2nd vizio we have bought and I couldn't be happier with our choice.
This is my fifth VIZIO TV. All are perfect. I ordered this one, E65-F0, because it has a TV tuner built-in. Imagine that! No VIZIO "TV's" in stores have tuner any more, so I had to order mine direct from VIZIO. Great, but the shipping is the weirdest I've seen. First shipped by an intemediary co., and then delivered by another co., which took over a week to deliver it after it was already sitting in a local warehouse. Vizio management has three big problems: 1) Abandoning the customers who are using OTE protocol. (No tuner in most of their units.) [Realize that the manufacturing cost of built-in tuner is under $7.00!] 2) Unnecessarily complicated shipping. Know of FedEx, UPS, DHL ??? 3) The remote is the most anti-ergonomic thing ever. The function are great but one can not hold it comfortably in hand, it cannot possibly be opreted when on a table ... pushing buttons makes the remote flip like a Chitlet chewing gum. It has more ridicules angles and curves than any other. WHY???
I have a chromecast and fire tv stick. SmartCast blows both of them out of the water in terms of performance and usability. Everything is literally instantaneous. The apps on the TV recognize you're on a 4K TV and offer special categories for 4k content as well, which definitely helps with the sparse 4k available right now. The XLED picture quality is amazing when watching 4K content, but 1080p content doesn't get much boost from it.
Love this tv. It was easy to set up, just follow the directions. The only thing we don't not like is the stand. Instead of one dental base it has feet on each end. Our current stand was a few inches short for that configuration and we had to buy a new stand.
The install and setup is painless. The image is excellent. Of course, you need a soundbar because the built in speakers aren’t good for most residential use. My only complaint, and it bothers me enough that I almost rated 3 stars, is the smartcast menu and updates. With every update, I have to redo the menu and they’ve continued to make the channel apps - the only thing most people actually use- smaller and farther down the list and the ads for movies and other pay apps bigger and more prominent. I gave it 4 stars because The company was quick and responsive when my son broke the screen, which is a big deal. But the app thing bothers the heck out of me.
I'm glad I purchased this tv but there are a couple of things I feel they cut corners on. First, the speakers are small and on the back of the tv. You won't be happy without an added soundbar. My 55" had a nice base to stand on. This one has little legs on the outside edges. Limits the size table it can sit on. The picture is good and the price was good.
The peak brightness is less than that of the old plasma it is replacing. Also there is pretty significant dimming is all of the corners. That said, there is significant less glare on the TV, even though we have some large bright windows (was a big problem with the plasma). So for now the trade off is worth it.
Just waiting for this one to go out like the other one. I already have a collection of tvs in my garage . You may ask why do I continue to buy VIZIO ? Because it’s cheap !! All these TVs today are made poorly .This way my wallet does not suffer too bad . I have read so many reviews of the back light going out on your TVs... make a better product and extend a warranty for 5 years not 2. Horrible
