Great picture! I've been a Samsung user for many years but decided to try Vizio after my Samsung developed dead spots in the center of the screen. The Vizio Quantum colors are bright, vivid, and really sharp. The picture really is on par with QLED but at half the price.
Had the TV for one week and like it very much. The picture is very good and start up was accomplished 100% by the TV itself. It was able to find my cable box and hookup to it on it's own. In the end my cable box controller was all I needed to access all my programs. I didn't have to do anything but wait patiently for a few minutes
Was an easy set-up to Cable and Blue Ray via HDMI. 4K HDR was improvement from M Series Vizio both in picture/sound and installed apps. Used a telescoping wall mount so connections were easy - could be an issue otherwise (not much clearance) may be difficult to plug in cables..
Impressive visuals. Surprisingly, the thing that impressed me most was the "Advanced virtual surround sound audio from the display’s two built-in speakers" (Dolby on). It was quite an improvement from the Visio 39" LED backlit model from 2008, where I couldn't even discern stereo, and the sound volume was slightly low. This is a midrange tier product, there are better and worse models with HDR & local dimming. I find the brightness to be well-suited for my average-lit living room, with the brightness at the default 50% (more causes wash-out) and the backlighting set to "high," even though our old one was only rated at 300nits brightness (same rating as the lower-tier - cheap - product) which seemed lacking when the sun shined in on the room behind. A word of caution about that though, "high dynamic range" (HDR) means that not only are the darker areas darker, but the brighter areas are quite a bit brighter too, meaning only 1000nits on the brightest white spots, perhaps comparable to 500nits non-HDR. The higher-tier product had a rating of 3000nits (and well out of my price range) and I would assume that would be too bright for viewing in dark rooms (such as night without sufficient ambient light). The second-best surprising feature is the ability to "cast" the TV stream from compatible (newer) smartphones - and it is surprisingly easy. "Discovery Go" was an app that I wanted, for the "Battlebots" show, not available within the TV menus, but my wife discovered she could "cast" it from her Galaxy (S6?), with the caveat that the TV remote will not pause, FF, or rewind; nor chose episodes - it all had to be done from the smartphone. Also, I did my homework and compared to customer reviews of other brands and tiers, and I can say I have not noticed any "bloom" or "flashlighting" around the bright spots of the screen, a problem well-known with budget HDR tiers; the 200 individually-dimmed backlights seem to do a great job of it without introducing bloom. Now for the negatives, which are minor. The "Smartcast" app options are quite limited - I compared to Samsung and they have an "app store" where you can supposedly get "thousands." It is less than dozens with Visio. But the same tier Samsung model was well beyond my price range, and even then about 8% of 2019 model reviewers complained of spots on their screen that looked like obvious "shadows" when the screen was filled with the same color/brightness, and the Samsung 2020 models lacked the anti-glare coating that the 2019's had and they claimed it degraded the appearance quite a bit. Also, I don't like the way that pause, FF, and rewind are handled on the Visio remote (watching through apps). That said, we've found that we can (so far) get to other television show/movie services through some of the included apps. For instance: you can get "CBS all-access" through Amazon Prime. All in all, I find it a GREAT TV for my mid-level budget, and I am really enjoying it a lot. Sure it could've been better - but for double the price, and then it could've been TOO bright (turning down the brightness could possibly cause "wash-out," I just don't know).
Very nice television. I have no complaints about the picture or sound; It was easy to set up. I didn't mess with the factory settings and everything looks fine to me. It seems to be heavier than the specified weight.
Color and picture are great. Love the smart cast features and being about to “cast” my phone or iPad screen to the tv. Upgraded from a 55in VIZIO smart tv I bought in 2015, so the upgraded smart features are a plus. Only problem I’ve had is that it doesn’t turn on sometimes. I press the power button on the remote and tv, and it won’t come on, but the U-verse box and sound bar turn on. If I unplug the tv and plug it back in, it will turn on, but that seems odd to have to do. Only has happened twice in a month
The picture is great but the sound could be better. It took some adjusting so the background noise isn’t louder than the dialog. Also, sometimes when I turn the tv on the picture does not come on but the cable box does. I hear sound but no picture so I turn it off, then turn it back on again. The picture comes on. I hope Visio does frequent updates to fix problems.
Overrall pretty good tv, but doesnt have that HDR punch with its Quantum color like I hoped for. It isnt much different than the 2018 P Series I replaced. Upscaling its good with 1080p but isnt that good with 720p or 480p which is disappointing
It takes 40 seconds to turn on and even get to a home screen. The sound cuts in and out whenever it feels like it on any HDMI port or input. It turns itself off and on randomly. Vizio has to send a tech, but that's not possible now. Have had problems from the START and would never buy again.
So I bought this tv for around 1200 dollars after reading reviews that recommended it highly . When I got it set up the colors were awful with a lot of shadowing and distortion. I tried every setting I could try as well as did factory reset twice without any good results. Finally took it back and bought a regular 4k HD for half the price which was great right out of the box.
