A few weeks ago I purchased my first Vizio products -- this TV and a sound bar -- and so far I'm very happy with both. The TV picture is impressively good, the sound bar has excellent sound, and each product was a great value based on price. From the packaging to the user interface, I'm very impressed with Vizio as a company.
I bought the Vizio E55-E2 in August along with a Vizio sound bar and I am very pleased with the products. The picture and sound are great. I had a little trouble setting up the Smartcast, but the technical support was great and got me up and running. I also have two other Vizio TV's that I have had for years and have had no problems with them. I will always be a Vizio customer.
3rd Vizio I've purchased & all still working like the day they came out of the box. Wanted a 50 inch but couldn't find the width of the base anywhere online. Saw it at a big box store & salesperson had no clue. Called Vizio customer service & spoke to Dustin who had the info in less than 30 seconds. So impressed with his service & knowledge, I purchased the E50-E1 directly from Vizio. Actually saved nearly 100 bucks by not buying it locally. Great picture though wish it was 120hz but the 4K makes up for it. Easy set-up, found my Wi-Fi connection pronto & was flying in no time. Haven't gotten into the phone app or Chromecast yet but sure it'll work fine. Would suggest a Vizio soundbar to enhance the experience, makes a big difference. And a big selling point, customer service located in the U.S. not outsourced to the far east. Money well spent!
The 4K looks amazing and optimizing the colors really make it pop. The SmartCast is everything I need for all the apps I use. I only have Vizio TVs and sound bars in my house since the first flat screen tv I bought was about 10 years ago and that tv still works great. The 4 hdmi outlets is more then enough. The menus are easy to navigate and set up very well. I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone.
The picture is great, tv is great, the casting isn't perfect. And that might be more on Hulu an Netflix then Vizio. Would be easier if apps ran threw the tv an not only cast threw the phone. Every time the phone locks you have to wait for it to reconnect to the tv. So if I miss something I have to pull out my phone wait for it to reconnect then rewind. It would be really great if there was some option to rewind casting threw the remote and/or be able to adjust settings with the remote. Over all best tv I've ever had 4k (which you can only really use threw casting Netflix at the moment) is amazing I can see the stitching on actors clothing. An there are almost no dark spots which I why I got rid of my last tv. GREAT AN AMAZING TV
I like the picture and the features and options it offers, but the one thing I am disappointed in is that it doesn't have YouTube as one of the apps pre-installed. I understand that I can use my smart phone and stream it to the TV through my phone, but I was expecting it already installed on my TV apps. I have a friend of mine who does have YouTube set up like this and that is why I wanted to buy a Smart TV, so for that reason I am disappointed in this TV. The sound could use some improvement.
The install and setup is painless. The image is excellent. Of course, you need a soundbar because the built in speakers aren’t good for most residential use. My only complaint, and it bothers me enough that I almost rated 3 stars, is the smartcast menu and updates. With every update, I have to redo the menu and they’ve continued to make the channel apps - the only thing most people actually use- smaller and farther down the list and the ads for movies and other pay apps bigger and more prominent. I gave it 4 stars because The company was quick and responsive when my son broke the screen, which is a big deal. But the app thing bothers the heck out of me.
I'm glad I purchased this tv but there are a couple of things I feel they cut corners on. First, the speakers are small and on the back of the tv. You won't be happy without an added soundbar. My 55" had a nice base to stand on. This one has little legs on the outside edges. Limits the size table it can sit on. The picture is good and the price was good.
The peak brightness is less than that of the old plasma it is replacing. Also there is pretty significant dimming is all of the corners. That said, there is significant less glare on the TV, even though we have some large bright windows (was a big problem with the plasma). So for now the trade off is worth it.
I bought this a few months ago and after getting it set up realized that sending 1080P HDR content to it from a PC, PS4 or Xbox1 resulted in incorrect color reproduction and a seeming green shift. This occurs cabled directly to the source without a receiver (also occurs with a receiver). Vizio replaced the set under warranty but the replacement set does exactly the same thing. If you want 1080P HDR, don't buy this set.
