vivid picture, 65" quite impressive, very smart tv

Tom and Barbara March 2, 2018

Purchased a week ago. The picture quality is over the top. We can see flaws in the clothing, even if only a thread size. This tv is so very smart. One night we were watching and it told us we had low voltage. It was a power co. Issue. The smart cast feature allows you access to so so much viewing. Downloading the app for your smart phone is easy and you can even adjust the volume. The only improvement I can suggest is surround sound.

excellent when it's working

jimQ August 11, 2017

it worked for about a week and a half until the screen just went black. sound, no pix. tech support very nice. qualified me for a new one. took about two weeks to get it. movers unpacked, set up and took the first one away. the loading dock was full of Visio's to the exclusion of other brands. a bit unsettling. features and pix are better than it's price but now i'm unsure of it's reliability

Wonderful Display for a Wonderful Price

Timothy June 24, 2017

Buying a TV is a big decision purchase, I made sure I did my research before choosing the P55-E1. I can tell you that this display is the best value out there for a 4K HDR Display. The amount of technology they packed in this display from the XLED Pro to XHRD Pro, and Chromcast is amazing. I will enjoy this display for years to come and can't wait to see what they do next!

Sharp, clear and PRO

abrabble December 15, 2017

I searched and searched for which 4K TV to buy and I was hard pressed not to get this Vizio P-Series. The online reviews are great and so far I am very pleased. The legs were very easy to attach, my components integrated perfectly and the picture is excellent. I do, however, wish the sound was better. I have a sound bar and speakers but sometimes that is just a little to mush for regular viewing. In addition, I would prefer to have all of the traditional buttons on the remote for play, stop, rewind, forward. Overall though A+++

Amazing 'Home Theater Display'!

Steve Jobs January 2, 2018

I was researching for awhile now and was just disappointed at my choices for a lower price point 4K HDR TV within my price point, I'd have to dish out a couple hundred bucks I didn't want to spend, especially on Black Friday! That is, until I found this TV! It not only checked all my points, and then some, with the vast amount of local dimming zones and Dolby Vision just made me just that more eager to get this! Satisfied with my purchase rather than getting one of the more recognizable name brand expensive tv's! Now for the issues I've had with this TV. I mainly got it for casual gaming, none of the twitched based FPS games, too much input lag for my tastes, but fine for RPG's where you can take your time in the game, absolutely stunning gameplay if your game has HDR enabled, looking forward if we ever get 12bit/dolby vision support for it. IPS Glow or bleed can be pretty noticeable on this tv, I'm am fine since I know it can be inherent with IPS Displays, which is the model I have for the 55', the 65' and higher models have VA panel. Most of the time I don't mind, but it can bug me when there are black bars for the 21:9 movies or worse with the 18:9 content that Stranger, but the local dimming very much helps, bring it closer to the OLED quality of darkness but not quite. Lastly, is navigating through the menus, everything is so clunky and laggy! MAkes it annoying to deal with the menu and apps sometimes, though I highly appreciate the addition of Plex since I have a home server for movies at home. But I would recommend getting an Apple TV if you don't like the menu, but I'm ok with it for now, at least it functions like it's supposed to, just not a good experience. All in all, if you know what you are getting yourself into and recognize the possible cons and pros of your tv, namely this one, you will have an amazing time!

Fantastic picture quality

Ed G July 6, 2017

I bought this TV because of the reviews and because it is on of the only TV's that has HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I'm very impressed with the black level of the P65. After watching some shows and movies at home I can say that the picture quality is on par with the OLEDs, even in moderate lighting. I see no reason to purchase a TV at twice the cost for almost the same picture quality. Casting could be easier. I don't care to cast from my iPhone but I'm looking forward to the SmartCast TV update that will allow me to use Netflix the good old fashion way, directly from the TV.

TV broke 1 month out of warranty!!

Christopher June 25, 2020

The TV worked well and decent picture quality, although the P55 I bought in 2014 actually had a better overall picture due to more dimming zones. However, within about 9 months of buying the TV, the screen would take longer and longer to turn on. Eventually, the TV screen would no longer turn on at all (only sound would come through)...just in time to be one month past the warranty date. This is known as the "black screen of death" and is a common problem on Vizio TVs, look it up. I purchased the TV on May 17, 2019 and the TV became completely useless on June 11, 2020...good timing on Vizio's part, they couldnt have planned it better! Customer service said "too bad, so sad", and did not even offer to prorate the replacement cost, or cover the cost of a repair by an authorized shop. I enjoyed the TV while I had it, but the poor customer service and bad quality control means that this will be the last Vizio I buy...especially since companies like LG and Samsung have been bringing their prices down in the last few years.

Faulty from the start

Jahnny7 December 28, 2017

I owned this for several days and immediately noticed horizontal lines flickering on the screen. The lines appeared while using the onboard apps, as well as while connected to a gaming console. I’m currently awaiting a replacement, but hope there’s something Vizio can do to keep my future business. This is the second 55+” set I’ve bought from Vizio. Perhaps a sound bar or partial refund for my trouble? this occurred over the holidays while we were hosting company, so you can imagine my displeasure...

Vizio App is a Deal Breaker

Chris.P.Bacon August 11, 2017

THE GOOD - The television has excellent picture quality and appears to be a high quality, sturdy build. -I like the metallic finish and minimalistic look THE BAD - This TV forces you to use a vizio app for your cell phone in order to control the SmartCast function. The app doesn't work very well it is designed terribly, I have no idea why they did this. It would be much more convenient if you could just use a remote control instead of a cell phone to control the TV. - There is no Amazon app built into the TV so you can't watch prime video. - When I tried to connect my wifi network to the TV it wouldn't work so I am forced to run an ethernet cable across my house for it to work. CONCLUSION I wouldn't buy this TV again or recommend it to anyone because the app is terrible and inconvenient. If everything were built into the TV and you could use the regular remote to control everything I would have given the TV a 5/5.
