Vornado AVH2 Plus Whole Room Vortex Space Heater

Vornado gets good reviews from Consumer Reports and we use quite a few of the Vornado whole-room heaters to heat where people are vs. heating the whole house more than it needs to be. We've tried a couple different Vornado models and like the AVH2 Plus the best for ease of use and price.

I have 3 vornado air circulators and 3 heaters. The heaters combine heat and air circulation and provide a comfortable and consistent temperature. These are great and I am not "just blowing hot air!"

It also has a timer that can be set to shut off after a set number of hours. The heat circulates very well and keeps my connected living and dining room areas nice and warm. I'm sure this heater would also work great in a smaller room. The AVH2-Plus-Heater is very light-weight, but also sturdy at the same time. The surface stays cool to touch and has a molded handle which makes it easy to carry from one area to another. While powerful, the AVH2 Plus is quieter than other heaters I've used. I recommend this heater to anyone in the market for a new heater.

Wow the Vornado is the perfect whole room heater no matter what size the room its one powerful heater. Its so lightweight and easy to carry. You can take it with you room to room to save energy and heat where you are up on these cool fall days. The best part is its made in the USA. This baby is very powerful and you won't burn your hands when you touch it. You can program it to stay on for an hour and a half and it automatically shuts off This is the best heater I have tried . My new Vornado heater is wonderful. This heater isn't a big one but it is perfect size to heat up a large area, don't let the size fool into thinking it isn't big enough. I love that I can set the temperature on the heater and when it gets to the temp it shuts off, once the temp isn't what you want it to be it turns right back on again. There is a setting to use it for just the fan also which is great. This vornado heater also has a high and low setting I love that feature. This heater is also very quiet another great feature it's really high tech for being a space heater it's the nicest one I've seen and owned. It has a spot in the back for you to carry it where you need to a nice handle built in to it . I really love that it has a censor if it's being touched to turn off so nobody gets hurt or nothing gets burnt. When I turn my heater off it counts down from 3,2,1 and it's off . I have young kids so of course there's a worry about little fingers getting into the actual fan part where the blades are but no worry with this heater that will not happen it's covered very well. This is a great product and I plan to get another for my back room that is much cooler in the winter. The Vornado AVH2 Plus Heater is a nice little heater for a small or medium bedroom or family room. It immediately puts out heat when it is turned on. The heat setting allows you to pick your desired temperature from 60 degrees all the way up to 90 degrees. The heater also tells you the current room temperature. The fan is very quiet and almost unnoticeable. There are also two safety features; an automatic shut off if the heater becomes too hot, and a cool to touch outer casing. The Vornado AVHS Plus also features a timed heat setting from one hour to twelve hours before it will automatically turn itself off. I think this is a real asset since it is very easy to forget that the heater is on due to how quiet it runs. The fan setting also lets you choose from automatic or continuous running. Compared to the two space heaters I already own, this Vornado is much better in terms of minimal noise, warm and quick heat, safety features, ease of use, and flexibility. If you like to keep a room a bit warmer than the rest of the house during the heating season, then I would recommend buying the Vornado AVHS Plus. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Loving my new vornado heater. I had never heard of this brand but I needed a heater to warm up my 600 sq ft bedroom in the winter. The heat from the wood stove never seems to make it that far thru the house and my room can get rather cold. This heater is lightweight and portable so you can take it to whatever room you need it in very easily. I have not tried it in any areas larger than my bedroom but I am sure it would do just fine. The vornado heater heats up my bedroom very quickly for its small size and maintains the temperature quite well with its programmable heat settings. I have no trouble sleeping with this heater on, it is whisper quiet and I don't even notice it. The heater stays cool to the touch and will shut off if knocked over, which is wonderful because I have 6 dogs who can get a bit rowdy at times. Have multiple Vornado products in apt. Have older version of this model also. I use year round with the Fan only function. It moves the air around the room beautifully. I also like the long warranty period. I've used that multiple times with their products. Vornado will repair or replace their products with minimal interaction. ONLY negative is not all their products are made in USA and not all products can be repaired. They only have repair parts for certain models. I was disappointed to learn I had to toss a smaller fan of theirs because of that policy. Over all I've had issues with their products but continue to purchase because of this good warranty policy. Keep your receipt and warranty booklet in safe accessible location.

So, I had to replace my space heater from another manufacturer. I read some independent reviews and the Vornado brand kept coming up in the top tier ratings. I decided to get one with the manual controls. I was completely surprised with the size, how well it and quickly it heated the space (700 sq ft). Since it worked so well I went out to my local wholesale club and a week later and bought this one for additional areas in our home. While shopping another person was looking at space heaters, I told them of my experience and they purchased one also!

Unfortunately this had to be returned. The bearings on the fan were faulty. Upon the first operation it was obvious something was not working properly -- you could hear the faulty bearing.
