Vornado EVDC300 Energy Smart Evaporative Humidifier, 1 Gallon Capacity, LED Display, Auto Humidity Control

Great product and just recommended to a friend. I purchased a Walmart gift card and it was so easy to order. Sales person in store suggested this as I'm not using credit cards due to fraud on my card at Christmas. It was a great suggestion and I will be purchasing more gift cards for sure.

EVAPORATIVE HUMIDIFIER was my choice over the vibration type. So far, the Vornato performed as advertised and as expected, I used it for the dry winter air, for about 10 weeks. Got it late January as a replacement for another brand's vibrating model that stopped working after 1 year and 2 weeks, much of that time stored clean in original box. This new one has helped stop morning dry mouth and throat. The evaporation wick works well but needs replacement. For me, the EVDC300 ran for 24 hours in very dry conditions before the tank was empty. But once the humidity level gets up to 45-50% it uses less water to maintain that level of humidity and the tankful will last for 2 days. It's very easy to operate, adjusts itself and is almost unnoticeable sound wise on lowest setting. It adjusts itself but it doesn't clean itself, using filtered water drastically cuts cleaning. But when you do clean it, it is simple to take apart. Hopefully, next winter it will work great again, and I won't have to use the warrantee

Ease of refill and effective humidity control

When this Unit is running, it is almost silent. Set at 50% it only took 3 days to reach the desired Humidity Level and began shutting down. It did require filling more often at first due to its smaller tank. However since it is now going off and on rather than running full time it has greatly slowed its water use. This is our Third Vornado Himidifier and at the current time I feel it is the best. The first one is still in use and running fine. The second one did have a Fan Motor that stopped after 7 years of use and was replaced by the EVDC300 that I am reviewing now.

Our first Vornado humidifiers were the EVD300. I really liked them until they started leaking all over the place. The issue could be a simple design fix but I haven't seen them do anything about the fact that the silicone seal on the bottom of the water tank is way too thin !!... I ended up have to use jelly roll pans to place them on to catch the leaking water. The company did replace the tanks and silicone rings but that really doesn't solve leaking. If they made a sealed water tank on the bottom with an open fill top on the tank, it would be perfect !! I ended up not using them anymore and switched to their EV3 black model. Much better...fills from the top. Vornado....you can do better with this.

I had been looking for an evaporative humidifier after my ultrasonic humidifier generated tremendous amount of white dust and resulted in orange flames of my stove burners, I like the Vornado EVDC300 that I bought as it has the 3 humidity settings, 3 fan speeds, and an energy smart mode. Also, I can just use the tap water. I have used it for 3 weeks now and am happy for the value of the unit that I paid for. I hope the product continues to work well as it claims.

I bought this humidifier to use instead of an ultrasonic one because I was tired of buying distilled water to prevent the white powder from my very, very hard water. This humidifier works great, though I think the fan is a bit louder than the one in the Vornado ultrasonic humidifier I had. But the lights on this make it impossible to use in a bedroom at night. The ultrasonic humidifier has buttons to adjust everything, with just one tiny led indicator. This humidifier has a touch screen that glows and claims that the screen dims when the light in the room is low. But it really only dims about 10% of the way, and remains a strong glow that can keep you up at night. The worst is that there is a light that glows into the water tank, seemingly for no reason except to make the tank glow brightly. This would be a 5/5 product if they would fix the obnoxious lights so that this could be used in a bedroom while sleeping, which is the main purpose I wanted a humidifier for.

Effective overall but disappointed with humidifier's sound level and humidistat option. I have several Vornado fans and had always been pleased with their quietness at lower levels. This is quiet at it's lowest energy saving level but it does take time for the humidifier to reach the amount of room humidity where it will reduce it's power to that level. The sound of humidifier fan, which is similar to the cooling fans found in the older large desktop computers, is otherwise noticeable. Adding to this is the inability to set the humidistat lower than 40%, I'm comfortable at 30 - 35% and having a wider humidity range would be even more energy efficient if that's what your looking for. I'd be happy if I used this humidifier to only maintain the room's humidity level during the day, but am disappointed with it for use overnight as a bedroom humidifier.

Brought this as a I already own the EV100 since Dec 2022. This more advanced model has a cpu fan which I thought would be better, but the fan is louder than the other model. The fan won't run as often and the vibration will wake you up when it turns on automatically. Ended up moving this newer model out of my bedroom and kept the old one there. Otherwise the EVDC300 does its job well. I prefer the original humidifiers versus the ultrasonic as they don't leave a white mist/haze all around.

I wanted to love this humidifier, but it only ran properly the first night. Since then it keeps acting like it's low on water, when it actually doesn't keep the water flow going. There is no setting to change the light on and off or even to dim it. So after about 45 minutes of running when it thinks it's low on water again, the light starts flashing and becomes annoying.
