The Vornado TRANSOM is easily the most powerful and elegant window fan I have ever had the honor of seeing or using; while being surprisingly quiet AND weather resistant! As someone who sleeps hot at night, the strong, low height wind generated by the TRANSOM helps keep me nice and cool. Family and friends have also mentioned how much cooler my room feels now in comparison to the rest of the apartment while it is running. I absolutely LOVE it! The unit is pleasantly lightweight despite its size, and installation required no effort once I figured out the correct orientation for the included foam blocks (the manual doesn't specify, so it took a little bit of trial and error). My only real complaints are that the unit lacks of any kind of built-in rear mesh or screen to keep mosquitoes and the occasional carpenter bee out (this is something I'd love to see added in future models or revisions along with an even more powerful speed setting), and that the touch (and even remote) controls can be a little unresponsive at times (I would've preferred physical buttons). The manual states to keep the window screen installed for that very reason but doing so is impossible on the apartment's thin to average size windows (as shown in photos). Overall, I'd HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a powerful window unit without the hassles of installing an air conditioner, or the noise of a box fan. I can't wait to see what future generations of the TRANSOM product line have in store if the first gen is THIS good!

This fan works very very well. It is quite quiet and very powerful. I installed it vertically because my windows slide horizontally and it works just fine. Love the product really helps me draw in the cold air from my air conditioner in the other room to my bedroom.

This is the greatest little window air conditioner/fan. It has a reverse option that if your room gets hot and stuffy and feels like it has humidity in it, you reverse that fan and it pulls everything out and it actually causes your room off then at night when you want a nice breeze in your room to be chill, you flip that reverse and turn it back on to where it's blowing air into the room best invention ever.

I love it and would buy another and let people know that it's better than I thought it would be

Works great, but....has low wind speed. Vornado is a little overstated.

It has sleek design and is quite, but the power is minimal. generally pretty weak for the price. it should cost 40 dollars maybe 50 max.

It is not as powerful as I expected

I have other Vornado fans that I love so I bought this one - and I returned it a few hours later. It is extremely underpowered for being over $100. My $20 box fan does a lot better at cooling a room and it does it quickly. Very disappointed. I do like the quality of the foam bricks instead of using a cheap accordion to seal from the outside. But I still would not recommend.
