I have watched only a quarter of the episodes so far, but I would buy this season again just for the first two. First episode features the superb acting of Debra Paget and Robert Horton as romantic leads, then the second episode displays the remarkable range of Mickey Rooney in both funny and poignant scenes. Johnny Cash appears in the third episode, then Ernest Borgnine, Ann Blyth, Judith Anderson, and so on. Admittedly the stories get a little unusual sometimes, like when scout Flint McCullough discovers an isolated settlement on the frontier, but the acting and moral tone are usually good. (I would suggest skipping the fifth episode because it's all about chorus girls.) The picture and sound quality are surprisingly good, and the disc menus are colorful and stationary (no looping of cheesy shooting scenes). Overall a great DVD set to have.
Great old westerns
Wagon Train is one of the best western series written and produced from 1957-1965. Howard Christie was a master-mind producer. Ward Bond, Robert Horton, Terry Wilson, Frank McGrath each with their unique personalities mixed and mashed their scenes to perfection. Growing up the most important cast member was Flint's horse, Stormy, a beautiful Appaloosa and I was most disappointed the episodes that Mr. Horton chose not no use him. The scenery across our western landscape was filmed so beautifully, even with the equipment back then. Roll across the prairie where there's no grass. Rolling across the mountains where there's no pass. Wagons Ho!
Good Family Show
I've waited for Wagon Train Season 3 for so long, Remastered Beautifully.\nPrice included parts 1
some of the Dvds didn't work properly
Haven't watched the DVD yet, but it should be as good as other seasons- vintage TV with no commercials. Biggest issue on these is that the discs don't stay anchored in place during shipping.
Actually haven't watched the DVD's yet, but the other ones I've ordered have been wonderful. Great to watch an old TV show without commercials. Only problem is that the disks tend to not stay in place during shipping.
never got to see it! disc's would not play!
