After being tired of using a manual treadmill, my wife and I decided to buy one. Not that I want to get a thousands dollars one nor we have space for a big one, we decided to buy this small product.
The price and speed which I was promised maximum 3.8 MPH, we chose this - and you get what you pay for, another good lesson.
I used to do the marching at 3.8 MPH speed while in the army, 3.2 MPH for an hour walk every weekday for 8 years to commute because I liked it. And you know how the difference between the speed feels like. This treadmill's 3.8 MPH felt nowhere near 3.2MPH, so I decided to measure it.
It's 40" long, 1.5" diameter for the roller both end. The entire belt is 40" 40" 1.5" * PI = 84.7". I put a tape and measured how long it takes for one cycle. It takes about 1.4 to 1.5 seconds. 84.7"/1.45, which is 58.4"/s. Go google 58.4IPS to MPH, it's 3.3 MPH. The full speed that they are saying, 3.8 MPH is actually 3.3 MPH.
I contacted the customer service, and this is what their excuse was.

Firstly, I'd like to inquire whether the speed discrepancy you observed during your treadmill test occurred right after you received the product. Secondly, at what weight did you test? Or running idling? If the problem arose during a no-load test run, it's likely a result of our motor control calibration. This calibration is aimed at ensuring consistent stride and enhancing coordination for walking or running, which may result in a slower speed than anticipated. If you're particularly concerned about this speed issue, I encourage you to reach out to our dedicated team of after-sales . I'm confident they'll be able to provide you with a tailored solution to address your concerns. Please feel free to contact us via the email provided in the attachment for further assistance.

I literally said I recently bought your treadmill. And for the safety reason the motor has a calibration functionality so it runs slow, yet the display says 3.8 MPH.
I don't understand why that kind of excuse would work on the customer. Like I explained to the CS, you just bought a car, but since it's on N which is idle, you hit the gas and the gauge says it's 2,000 RPM but for the safety reason it's not. How does it sound like to you?
Seriously, if you admitted your "designer" or the OEM manufacturer did a mistake and did a software upgrade or whatever, I would've been fine. But no, you just made an excuse, clearly you think people are stupid.
Oh and two more things, the remote, it takes more than 10 seconds to make the treadmill receive the signal. I do have all videos, it's just I can't upload any here unfortunately.
When the display is in "patrol mode" and if you control the speed, it stays in speed until you change the display mode again.
This is a total disaster. Of course I'm returning, you suggested to contact some outlook email address for refund, and yes I am, I 'm going to drop this at the nearest Walmart store. I just feel sorry for Walmart.
