Get a better grade of screw to mount it. Have a tradesman help you if you're unsure. Otherwise it works well for seniors. I installed one on each side of my door. Great fall prevention for those of us with balance issues.
Used these as safety handrails around bedside commode for disabled elderly man. Sturdy and big enough for him to hold on to while getting up and down. Picture attached. This is in a mobile home so we added plywood behind but in a house with actual studs to adhere to, this plywood would not be needed.
Very easy to assemble and very sturdy and useful to help getting down a step for my disabled friend.
The perfect railing for my garage door coming into the house. Was easy to install and very stylish.
Had to get toggle bolts for drywall as only one side went into the stud and it moved side to side a little. Once the drywall toggle bolts were used, it was completely stable. My 240lb. husband is able to grab on and feel secure stepping down onto the steps in the garage, where he can then reach the handrail. He thanks me for installing it every time he goes out.
Hardware that came with it was not sufficient. It needed much sturdier screws and anchors. First attempt with screws and anchors that were provided pulled right out of the wall. Once I used heavier screws , deck screws, and anchors, it is sturdy. The right side is anchored in studs. The left side, in Sheetrock
Very easy to install however it will not easily in some situations where we had a wooden post to screw it into.
If you are installing without a stud you can't use the anchors they provide. You will need to purchase better anchors are the ones provided pushes through the wall. You can't install on door facing if it is beveled.
The grip tubing was a bit smaller in diameter than I expected, but the overall assembly has proven sturdy in the month or so it's been in place. It's a nearly ideal size for the three steps from garage into house. We're well pleased with the safety enhancement it provides.
The wall anchors were poor quality without a flange at the top so they pulled right through the drywall. Quality Control was definitely lacking. Now hand rail is almost unusable as it is very unsecure.
