Can't beat Cheap Charcoal

Chamchuyo August 29, 2016

Even though it shows the picture as being Kingsfod, it's actually the Walmart Grill Brand Charcoal which IN MY OPINION is even better than Kingsford. The briquettes are bigger and the shapes are more pronounced for better air flow between them. They burn hotter and last longer too. I even shut the vents on my grill and have been able to cook twice with a charcoal tower of this briquettes. I really hope they keep the great price because I really want to keep buying this charcoal FOREVER.

Great stuff!

Eric May 9, 2020

Great stuff! Finally finished a bag of Kingsford someone gave me. That stuff woud maybe go for 20 min if that. Walmart brand has always been great when I used it. Just got almost 2 hrs from some. Amazing. Was able to cook burgers hot dogs and brats and still going strong.

Ad shows Kingsford. Substitute generic product.

TownDrunk August 31, 2016

The ad Shows Kingsford. They substitute a generic replacement. Correct weight but not the same quality. Don't buy online.

Not Kingsford Charcoal

Lorie August 9, 2016

They didn't have the charcoal in the 16.6 lb bag and instead of giving me a smaller size kingsford bag they gave me the 16.6 lb bag in the cheapest charcoal they had and that charcoal is very bad it take alot of lighter fluid a lot of paper just to get it to burn then it doesn't stay lit

Poor, Poor, Poor

ChoochBBQ November 19, 2016

I have burned 20 bags of Kingsford blue this year and never had an issue with lighting and burn time. I bought 2 of these when Kingsford was not on sale and tried 2 bags. It burns out quick, has tons of ash and wont stay lit when burning low and slow. Tried it in a Weber kettle and my custom built UDS. Im not going to waste my money on it when the Kingsford is so consistent. Just my 2 cents.

Big Mistake

Troutman March 20, 2021

This product does not deserve even a 1 . I bought two bags, excited by the low cost and will end up throwing both away because who saves a receipt for charcoal, right? The briquets are frail and break up easily - powdery even, more like a lump in a sugar bag. They took what seemed extra long to ignite, did not readily ignite the unlit coals above them and then when lit, did not hold the red glow the way Kingsford does. And at cooking time (for pork steaks) they took an extra 5-6 minutes. A complete waste of money.
