Walnut Hollow Sax Creative Woodburner Value Pen, 25 W, 4 Tip

This is my first wood burner tool, it was not expensive but it does a decent job. It takes a bit to get hot enough to make dark marks on the wood so be patient! It also works to cut plastics as it has a chiseled tip. I'm not an expert but I'd recommend it for beginner's level projects!

My daughter drew her design with pencil and then traced over with the wood burner and was able to burn out her designs with ease. There are three different tips. The tool gets hot, obviously, so should be used with adult supervision if allowing a child to use it.

Simply a good wood burning tool that is quick heating and easy tip to put on nd off with pliers and it heated in about 4 minutes and I used it to burn a name on a plaque .The writing point comes with the Creative Wood burner Value tool so it is ready to plug in, rest on the included stand and 4 minutes you start burning . I practiced on wood provided so when I do my cutting board my print or cursive will look nice .Smooth handle ,heat guard so no heat on your hand ,long cord to reach most outlets and a switch to turn it off prop on the included stand for cooling .The handle is thick plastic and perfect fit in my hand .The included writing point was easy to slide and burn the plaque I practiced on .You can get quite a few tips collect many for many different jobs as I have so I can cut stencils and plastics easily .I Am burning my wooden bread box and the kids wooden beds with their names and their favorites ,stars and Mickey Mouse .Walnut Hollow wood burning tools are great for many jobs and art.Try the tools and Solid Cherry Serving boards. So I used a wood burner in junior high school a very long time ago. I was a little nervous about using one after all those years. I read the back of the package and in 5 minutes I was able to begin using this. You simply plug in the unit set in the stand, turn on and let it warm up for 5 minutes. The instructions tell you to tape the cord but I used this on my kitchen counter to avoid any pets from getting curious and it worked well because it could rest in the stand and reached the outlet for electricity well. I am so excited to own this and find all the crafty ways to begin being artful and personalize things for gifts and for myself. I think during all these months of being stuck at home having a crafty outlet is wonderful. I read that you need to use a pliers to remove and change the tips. I can't wait to try using the other tips but I need to find the pliers and I thought I would mention this for you so you can get one if you don't own one. Love that this has a switch so you can click it off if you get a phone call or a visitor while wood burning and you can come back and begin again, as that just happened to me. My niece has been wood burning on her wooden spoons and other inexpensive wooden items to make adorable personal items. I can't wait to join her and compare our creations. I used a pencil for sketching my guidelines and then burned the image in. Just so much fun.

I just started using woodburners for certain projects. I am by no means an expert or even experienced at all with them. But this seems to be a decent wood burner. It doesn't take terribly long to heat up it seems to be similar to my other cheaper wood burner maybe three minutes to start getting hot maybe a little quicker than that. It comes with a few tips that looked to be for finer and scripting. I've tried this on leather and although I am not any good at it it will get hot enough to achieve markings on it. I believe if you're looking for a wood burner and you're a beginner this would do just fine. Maybe maybe as I get better with these I will learn more about them and an upgrade might be plausible but we will see you maybe this one is all I will need.

Got this to try something new & creative. I watched a few of the many how-to videos out there but it's a skill that takes time & effort to get it right. Just the shortest hesitation (micro-second!) it will leave a darker/deeper/wider mark than you expected. Even fine, well sanded wood can be a bit tricky. I liked doing this & love its potential but it's not for everyone or simple.

Item is ok for quick projects. Bought 10 total and 1 tip burnt completely off while heating up, before we could even use it. Was not able to even screw in another tip. They seem to not last long heated up so that we could finish projects we were working on. The were 10.00 each, expected more.

The item was delivered a month late and to an address in a completely different state. So I never got it.
