[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is incredible. Recently upgraded from the 1660ti version and this is much better in every way. They finally got rid of the mushy keyboard. It had DDR5 memory and a 165Hz screen. Definitely recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far this laptop has been great. It does everything I wanted it to do and is quick. My old laptop finally died and I do play some minor games with this new one. I also use it to do my video chats. It is light and the battery seems to last a good time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought the TUF Dash 15 and immediately regretted it upon receiving. Maybe it is unfair to bash on it because the TUF is more of a budget laptop but regardless I felt it had cheap materials, bad screen, poor audio, didn't love the keyboard, and IMO, the "gamer" aesthetic is ugly. By fate or poor QC it ended up breaking after 1 day. This really was a blessing in disguise because it gave me a perfect excuse to return it and research new options. I settled on the Legion Slim 7i and I am so much happier with it. I honestly feel it was a huge improvement in every way. The build quality, the screen color accuracy, the screen to body ratio, the audio, the keyboard layout (and RGB if you are into that), a fingerprint reader that actually works, and aesthetically a better looking and sexier laptop. So, I'm happy
Love the screen and screen aspect ratio. It is clear, bright, no flickering caused by PWM, fast refresh rate, and attached to a great GPU. The fans are also not excessively loud. They only come on every hour or so if I am doing light work. When running demanding applications the noise level is reasonable. Overall, the performance, portability, battery life, price, everything is in a nice sweet spot. Highly recommend!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great comp for gaming and video editing. Love the RGB and having cable management in the back out of sight. Camera is decent.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has exactly everything it says on the box - good CPU, good GPU and solid build quality. The RGB keyboard is a bit overkill for what I use but it's pretty neat to have.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really great! The only downside is that it gets hot but I have it hooked up to an external monitor so it isn't a problem and it's worth upgrading the storage with a M.2 SSD card.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a long-time user of macOS, this took some adjusting in terms of screen colors and latency of responses for some programs (e.g. typing on VScode, edge browser) when there are lots of programs running. The weight of the laptop is pretty light given the size👍. The screen looks nice. The keyboard sounds like raindrops on a window. The performance is just what I need- so being able to do light programming, run games on steam (e.g. Gloomhaven), have WSL, and web browsing. Other than the bit of lag when there's a number of programs running (even though my macbook can handle this perfectly 🥲), I'm pretty happy with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop but I am trying to dual boot it alongside Ubuntu. It was a bit troublesome process in this
Bought this to supplement my at-home rig, since I'm going to be travelling a lot in the near future. Looked beautiful out of the box; downloaded my games and went off on my trip. I have a very sturdy protected briefcase that I carry my electronics in whenever I travel. Upon arriving, Windows 11 asked for an update, which I allowed. Immediately following the update, it asked for a restart, which I also allowed; but after that, the display would not turn back on. Tried every fix under the sun for the apparently-known black screen bug for Windows 11, and then eventually gave up and opened up the back to see if I could figure out what was going on. This laptop was a disaster. The "slim" design seems to be "let's put the old legion together and then squish it as hard as we can get away with" — the motherboard screws were sticking up into the keyboard housing and pressing into some of the function keys, which meant that the very first time I tried to use the built-in boot to bios or reset graphics driver, my motherboard was going to get wiggly. In this case, the screws got stuck in place and kept the computer in an endless loop of booting/resetting the driver. Additionally, the whole housing was just an absolute mess in terms of wire management; the heat sink was pressing on the keys as well, and connection cables were just haphazardly taped every which way. I spoke with a wonderful customer service rep and am now waiting for my RMA label to get my refund, but this was a very disappointing experience – I love the design and I loved my old legion, but this design is poorly engineered and terribly manufactured. Would not recommend.
