I'm in love with this paint. others are too because you have to buy colors when you see them. it's a one coat textured beautifully colored paint. I let it dry and then paint with mica powder at edges or highlighted places. it's a hard/soft finish. the wax sealer is a new product for me but essential to the finish. There is a large selection available through mail but store sells out colors fast. grab them when you see them.. if you paint this product is a completely new animal.. give it a try.
While there's now a million brands of decorative Chalk paint out there now. This is and has always been my go to. It's affordable and the quality is very good. The choices of colors are excellent. I'd like to see more new colors to add to my collection. Perfect for so many projects from DIY furniture makeovers to every day craft projects. You can't go wrong with this chalk paint.
This review is for Waverly chalk paint in the color Laquer. If you purchase this paint all of the "chalk" has settled to the bottom. You have to pour the paint into another container then use something like a Popsicle stick to "dig" the hardened pigment out of the bottom. Don't give up it's worth the effort. Mix the pigment back into the paint by poking holes in the hard blob and stirring until your hand feels like it's falling off. DO NOT ADD WATER. This is amazing chalk paint when it's new, seems like the stock in this color is old. It can be revived with some effort, if you add water it ruins the one coat coverage and leaves streaks.
I was very thankful to be able to buy this product in a small bottle. I had several bottles given to me, which I was using for a project in my house. I ran out before the project was completely done. I wasn't certain about the color and had accidentally thrown out the last bottle before i wrote down the information. I did not want to buy a large quantity until I was certain it would match. Thankfully it does. i love chalk paint. It's the best paint to adhere to all types of surfaces and can be used as a primer or as a primary color.
Make sure that to check the ounces. I didn't but I was just painting a small sign. So it was perfect for me still have a lot left for other projects. But if you're doing a large project buy a bigger size. The color is great and goes on smooth and easy in one or two coats.
My first time using this type of paint for crafting and I was very happy with the way it goes on smooth and clean. Plan to purchase more in other colors.
Nice color and coverage. I painted a plank of wood. Cut a vinyl decal. Used brown wax to give it a little antique look. Love the look. These are very small bottles. But a little goes a long way on small projects. I love waverly paint it a quality product and always like having a small amount on hand for projects. This is great for that. But what else is nice a bout the small jars is they are great way to find the perfect color for larger products so I don't have to buy a large amount before i decide if I can get it mixed just right
I've used this brand several times before with great success but this color (scallion) isn't working for me whatsoever. I don't know what could be the issue but it's drying and it is showing two different shades. I have bought 3 bottles and same issue
Despite the rating, i still recommend this brand to others as it is super easy to use and can be done so inside. The only reason behind the low rating on this color (SANDSTONE) is due to the lack of color. Item ended up being blue instead of the russets type color it was supposed to be.
Mostly dried out when I opened it. I didn't need a lot of the paint but for the price it really sucked for it to be dried out. It had good coverage, I had to do two coats which isn't bad. It was easy to use and cover my project. Beginner painters would like it because it does get good coverage and the finish was great.
