wish i would have purchased the larger size (4-8TB) but prices were starting to go up. I purchased a few weeks before the prices really were out of control.

It works. It fits. It's easy to install, once you get past the odd twist the cover to remove it dance. Oh, and the metal washer goes below the drive, then the screw on top (the washer is a standoff for the drive to align with the socket). PS5's ship with such a teeny tiny drive, this thing is a must install. Formatting was quicker than any drive I have ever met.

I've used WD drives for many PCs I've built and network storage. I was eyeing the PC version of this drive and once I saw the PS5 Licensed model I knew I was going to buy one. This works just as described! Easy to install! Watch the installation video Sony provides on their site. Too bad no one will ever see the LED the way the PS5 is designed though. The WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD for PS5 is a must-get upgrade. It's reliable, fast, easy to install, and should store games for as long as you own and use your PS5. I thought 2TB would be too small, but I was mistaken. This adds 2TB on top of the default 600GB of console storage. Furthermore, all PS4 games can be stored on an external SSD. So this is internal SSD essentially ensures your PS5 can download any game going forward. Get the extra space.

Like everyone else, I was terrified to pop the cover off my PS5. Just watch one of the many guide videos, take your time and be gentle and you'll be fine. Took me about 5 minutes total to install. Plugged all my cables in, started it up and it formatted right away. Now I have a ton of room for games and don't have to do the dreaded “pick one to delete” nonsense to make room. It's not cheap but you'll be glad you did it.

This was easy to install and now my son can load all of his games (both digital downloads and discs) and play without any lag or need to delete and reload. It was well worth the price with time and frustration saved.

I bought one hard drive that said it was compatible but the site lied and was false information. Yea I did pay a little extra but it was comforting knowing that this is especially for PS5!! Hands down I would recommend!! This is SUPER fast!! Trust me you will not be disappointed!! Thank you…one happy customer!!

I'm am extremely happy I picked this up. It's really helped me out with space management and I don't need to constantly move and wait for my ps5 games to copy. Once it's on the WD internal ssd, it will play directly from there, no more copying and waiting. One of the best purchases by far for my ps5. And it was CRAZY EASY to install. 10/10 would definitely recommend

So far so good. Easy to install. Read without a problem by my kid's PS5. Only time will tell of the rest.
