The pieces are real nice they are plastic but looks like marble also they are very well weighed my only thing I did not like is that the chest board is a heavy piece of plastic I am going to glue the chest board onto a piece of wood or marble to make it sturdy

The color combination shown was not available but the seller contacted me and allowed me to choose a new combination. The pieces are nicely weighted and the bag is a nice thick canvas material.

I gave this set as a birthday gift to my talented grandchild who is already winning local tournaments. She needed it to keep track of opponent moves. She completely loves it.

My 7 year-old son has joined a chess club and is taking chess lessons so we wanted a tournament set that is easy to carry with him. This set was exactly what we needed. The board is exactly what is used in club and tournaments and the bag has plenty of room for game pads, pencils and a clock. The weight of the pieces is great and they don't get knocked over as easily as our cheap plastic set we had prior. The Negative.....A rook was broken when we got it but since it was for his birthday I super glued it so he could get right to playing. I understand that damage can happen in shipping etc. However also after just three uses with the bag the strap is almost completely coming off. He was not rough with it at all. I can't sew it back into the seam so I called and they are sending a new set right away. Happy with the help received just hoping the next bag holds up because it seems to be pretty sturdy otherwise. Hope this helps in your decision to make the purchase or not. Super set just annoyed by the damage and hassle.
