I bought this specifically for two young kids, I saw the reviews were overall satisfactory. Easy to use, and kids like it alot. Price was good too.
a blast. Just make sure you go to "ski school" first (whether snowboarding or skiing) to learn the basics. I couldn't even get my mii to move until I learned how in ski school. The manual doesn't tell you any of the basic skills so the only way to learn is to "take lessons".
My brother got this game for his birthday and when we started plating we couldn't stop! Since yo can have up to 4 players my 2 brothers and I all played together. We have had a few problems with the disc, but now it is working again. I think it's really fun! You get to create a person and customize their outfit, their skiis, their eyes, their face and the whole nine yards, you can even put goggles and hats on them. When you start skiing you can practice by using practice mode, when you are ready, you can hit the resort or the mountain. When yo go to the resort you can choose where you want to go, sometimes you even find your miis there! There are little secret paths and plenty of jumps and ramps to do tricks on. My brother was plying once and he found a halfpipe...if you want to, you and your friends can do a halfpipe trick competition. If you decide to go on the mountian, you can choose sunset or daytime. You ski all the way down the mountain and then a helicopter takes you all the way back up. As you are going down little avalanches come behind you. I would reccomend this game to everyone that has a Wii.
We bought this with 7 & 8 year olds in mind, they love it. The only down fall is understanding the way the controls work, there is a "school" option, I suggest going to school and learning how to use all the controls first, especially if this is your first video game experience, it was ours. Once you get that, the mountain is all yours for the taking!
Loved using the game. Not so great on the balance board (as my balance isn't the best) but on solid ground I had a BLAST. Will work up to using the balance board later. Lots of fun!
This game is definitely a family pleasure. I bought it for my children, but I love playing it just as much as they do.
When my Mom, Dad,and I played,my Mom wanted the Wii balance board. And so my Mom got it. And my Dad and I used the Wiimote and my Mom got the Wii balance board. And plus there is Mt. Angrio and the Resort so you can pick. Mt. Angrio goes really fast. And there are hiden caves. I like that you can change between Sking and Snowboarding while you are going down the Resort or Mt. Angrio. The Resort has a guy and you can find his kids. I hope my review will inspire you to buy this game.
Great game. I can only comment on the snowboarding. I did not try the skiing. You learn all the moves to do all the tricks at the school. Then you can drop into the half pipe and combine all the tricks. Really cool. The night session was really amazing. Too bad real resorts are not like that. I used the Wii hand held controllers instead of the balance board. I found that the balance board was too sensitive to control the turning. Besides, the hand held controllers allows more than 1 person to play.
I bought this game to use with my Wii balance board, thinking it would be a fun workout. The game offers a basic training of all the tricks that can be done on the snowboard and you get a chance to practice them one by one. But after each is completed, you have no reference guide for them later, and I found that I could not begin to remember all of the tricks. I would recommend a buyer write up a cheat sheet to have handy if you decide to get this game.
Um...the tutorial is ridiculously long...maybe I need to spend more time with it beyond 30 min, but trying to compete in a race with the games simulated players is near impossible to fairly compete in-I cant seem to gain any speed? So unitl (if) I figure that out...my opinion on this game is mediocre. The aesthics are nice & a few options on the game are cool (I guess?)...
