I received a replacement, pre-seasoned, rust resistant 28” griddle. My original griddle was purchased 3 years ago and rusted very badly. The new griddle is great and performed extremely well right out of the box for a graduation party where lots of burgers and hot dogs were cooked.
Very pleased with this griddle. Mobile but sturdy; solid. I compared this to a competitor's griddle and it was flimsy in comparison. Excellent even heat distribution across the griddle surface - no hot or cold spots. Cooking temps are easy to control.
i love this grill. my husband likes to cook on his acorn but i love the griddle. i have made a few meals on it so far. fried rice, philly cheese steaks and breakfast. it cooks everything perfectly.
Purchase my Weber grill about a month ago to complement my Weber Genesis grill. The heat is very controllable and evenly heat the griddle. Cleans easily with a splash of cold water after use and stays rust free with a small amount of olive oil. I have cooked everything from steaks to grilled vegetables, to making a large breakfast. If I were to do this again I would repurchased the same griddle all over again.
Seems to be a good quality item. Easy set up and we've enjoyed it. We have the Weber smoker. It had an issue. I called the support line and it was like old school support. The person on the phone actually called me back to make sure the parts arrived and I was able to easily install them good company from my opinion.
Totally awesome. Only have a small upper deck to put it on and it's a perfect fit. Easy to clean up and cooks evenly. We don't eat meat so we cook every veggie imaginable on it and no need for a million utensils or baskets like with a bbq. Pancakes are perfect on this and omelettes. Having so much fun cooking on this. No problems with lighting it. Have no complaints.
I have buyers remorse since I should have purchased the Weber 36" griddle instead of the 28". The griddle itself is great with ALMOST constant heat distribution from top to bottom and side to side. Invest in a heat thermometer gun to check temp of griddle top.The problem is the griddle top warps and the grease puddles to one side as a result. Also the gas regulator hose is to short if you want to add a gas gauge to see how much propane is left in the tank.
Great griddle - my first try at griddling. Nice features, lights reliably, heats evenly. Downsides: only two wheels - hard to move around. Construction kind of flimsy, but, I guess, good enough. It's great, but I'd say it doesn't quite measure up to Weber quality.
Ever since griddles came out, I wanted to purchase one. I like the idea of cooking on griddle with large surface area. Tried inserts and griddle pans on grill and they just were too cumbersome. Finally jumped and purchased. Now have grill, smoker and griddle. Comments on the griddle it is easy to use and clean. Griddles require more cleaning, but if you maintain the surface it is pretty simple. Watch the online videos. The griddle warms quickly. The heating is a little uneven and you need to watch temperature. It is difficult to have sections of griddle with different temperatures. The cooking experience is nice, but is just a griddle. Perfect for breakfast with family. For other meals it will never replace the texture or taste of a reverse seared tomahawk. Even burgers. It works for the novelty of the smash burger, but if you want juicy big burgers, stick to the grill or reverse sear. So this will never replace my Weber grill and it doesn't transform your cooking like a good smoker will. What it does is allows me to cook more outside.
While the design of this griddle is sleek and functional the actual griddle itself isn't well made and nowhere near as durable as others on the market… the surface scratches very easily with basic “griddle tools” and ends up leaving unsightly marks… and even with reseasoning it food will get stuck on the areas of the scratches. I have a portable version of the competition brand and the griddle on it is much more durable. I can't see this Weber version lasting very long, and I have only had mine a month and have used it less than 6 times. I'm super disappointed that I chose to stay “brand loyal” and bought this Weber. I can definitely see myself buying the full size griddle from the other brand this summer.
