Excellent quality. The body of the grill is thick enough to stop a .22 rimfire. It should last a good long time. Very easy to cook on with plenty of space, easy to clean up with a garden hose. Slow cooking using a sear basket makes ribs or loins silly simple. This is my first Weber product ever, so far I'm impressed.
Wanted grilled burgers and didn't want to fire up the 22 1/2 so I went out to buy the smoky joe. I had one before and the bowl burnt out. Had to get another because nothing cooks like a Weber!
I have had several of the 22” Kettle charcoal grills. I love it, I cook on the grill at least 3-4 days a week. This grill last me about 6 years until shutter starts to fail. Not bad for as much as I use it. Very versatile from hamburgers and hotdogs to smoking brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Once you figure how to control the heat you can literally cook anything on it. This is the best grill for the price!!
This my first kettle. I've always wanted to try one but always thought it wouldn't live up to the hype. I was wrong. This thing stays hot for a long time and is excellent at almost everything.
This is my third Weber Kettle grill. The first two each lasted me about 7–10 years, so I’m clearly a fan. This newer model feels a little lighter than the older ones, which makes me wonder about durability, but I’m hoping it outlasts the previous two and keeps up the Weber reputation for quality.
I have owned a weber charcoal grill before but switched to gas. what a mistake. The flavor of food on a charcoal grill far surpasses a gas grill. Two things that you must have with the weber charcoal grill are charcoal holders, and a charcoal chimney starter. The holders keep the charcoal off to the side so you have a "cool side" of the grill and the charcoal chimney starter elimnates the need for lighter fuel and no more lighter fuel flavor.
This grill is a classic. I find it’s the best way to grill steaks, fish or vegetables! Takes little time to load charcoal, I use ‘match lite’ charcoal and it’s ready in less than 15mins. Plenty of time to cook a great meal perfectly! Also use cast iron pan to grill vegetables which makes perfectly caramelized veggies for fajitas or just on the plate. I get about 10 years life out of these grills on the west coast of Florida. Key is to keep them clean but don’t wash.
I was surprised how thin the metal is on my new 22" kettle grill compared to the 22" kettle grill I replaced. The cooking grate and the overall metal of the kettle itself. I do like the heat shield on the handle.
Haven't cooked over coals in quite a bit, but there is no disputing the increased flavor profile over gas it provides. I had a Weber kettle years ago and just repurchased. Great quality as I had recalled, and much better overall quality than cheaper offbrand alternatives.
replaced my 20 year old weber. when assembling the new weber, the leg would not slide into the weber base. i had to sand the ends of the legs and hammer them into the base. i take my grill with me when i travel, so i must hammer them in and out every time i assemble it. otherwise, i enjoy the new grill
