Best Weber I've owned so far. I've owned a Jumbo Joe, an 18”, two 22's and now a 26er. You can cook a lot of food on the 26 with room to spare. Ash clean up is easy with the removable catch pan. Weber's are built to last a lifetime. Food tastes much better on a charcoal grill. Remember go big and stay home for dinner!
Many little improvements in this one over the 22" that add up to a better grilling/smoking experience. Nicer ash collection system, heat shield on the lid handle, stainless steel grilling grate, reinforced charcoal grate. Its also a few inches taller, bringing the grill grate up to a more user friendly level. I couldn't see spending the extra for the ranch kettle, but this one, definitely!!
I bought this in July and my life and the life of my family & friends has Changed, I have always used a 22" and I cook for many people usually it takes me a couple of runs to get enough food on the table for everyone to eat but now I have the grill space to get r done in 1 run leaving me more time to spend enjoying the company of my friends and Family THANK YOU!!
Great grill with heavy duty bowl and lid. Cooks evenly and holds temp better than previous grill. Weber customer service is excellent as an error on my part during assembly required a replacement part...CS Rep stated no problem and no charge. Very pleased with purchase!
Sometimes when you are going to grill you need just a little extra room. the 26 " Kettle is the answer. All the great features of the Weber Kettle made just a little bigger. Really comes in handy when indirect cooking where you need to use a drip pan.
Tested and true! Great charcoal grill. Comes with Weber's sterling reputation and incredible warranty with best customer service in the business.
Grew up with Weber Kettle Grills all my life and still buying them. Greatest grilling investment always made. Grill year round, even in the winter. Trail in the snow on the deck leads to the grill.
I have a 6-year-old 22" that I use at least 100 times a year. The 26 is more for big rib roasts, biscuit, turkeys, and gatherings. Since the 26" is for special occasions, it was used maybe 30 times before the welds holding the legs on failed. Weber replaced the lower bowl. By the time I had the replacement installed, 2 of the leg holders had completely disconnected, but the grill had been leaning for 3 weeks prior since the failure of the second weld. Upon inspection of the lower bowl before disposal, I was surprised to see that only 6 of the 9 tabs that hold the bowl to the legs were actually welded, and the welds that failed were only 1/16" to 3/32" welds. I've been using weber products for over 20 years, even rescuing old kettles and restoring them for family, friends and our family campsite. This is my only experience with the 26" which I received new. In my experience with other models, I've never experienced this problem before, I'm hoping the welding machine was just having a bad day that day.
Quality control very poor compared to the 22” I purchased a few years ago. Ash sweeper was bent, lid was ovalized, and top vent was bent. After I bent everything back to where it should be, the grill performed great.
Just bought my third Weber Kettle grill in the 40+ years we've been married. Bought the 26” premium to have enough grilling area to cook for family and friends when we get together. I loved the first two, but this one is problematic due to the lack of quality control at Weber. Pros: • It's a Weber and I love ‘em for the way they cook and smoke. • Assembly was simple and easy. • The charcoal grate and the cooking grate are heavier duty than less expensive 22” models. • The lid is nice and heavy to help keep heat and smoke inside the kettle. • The ash catcher is nice sized, light-weight aluminum and fits in the ash catcher ring, a vast improvement over the flimsy plate and wire supports on the lower priced models. • The one-touch cleaning system is effective. Cons: • Bottom half of the kettle has spots of missing paint on the inside of the kettle bowl where the leg sockets were welded onto the kettle. This hows the lack of quality control at Weber's assembly/manufacturing facility. The kettle is made from steel and charcoal ash is corrosive, so the kettle will most likely start rusting out in those spots by this fall despite being covered when not in use. • There is a wavy area, approximately 8” X 8”, of coating inside the kettle bowl indicating the steel was not properly prepared before coating or that the coating was improperly applied. Another possibility for rust and another failure of Weber's quality control. • The lid handle, bowl handle used for moving the kettle, and the finger guard on the lid damper assembly get too hot to touch while charcoal is burning/smouldering. Regretfully Weber's quality control failed with this one.
