This is a great small grill. Easy to transport and big enough to cook for a family of four or five while comping. It cooks evenly and the temperature is easy to control. Weber is known for their good support and that parts are available if something needs replacement. Most of the time you will not need the parts as the equipment is well engineered, sturdy and durable.
I live in a condo with limited space and a very small deck. I love grilling, but my grill was just too big for my deck. I started shopping and found the Q 2800. I needed my grill to run on a 20lb tank, which the Q does. The size is perfect! It looks fabulous in my small space. And it goes without saying the temperature capabilities make it a superior grill to many grills twice the cost. I love it!
This is the first I've bought in years. I had big ones with all the bells and whistles. I don't grill like that anymore. I wanted a size large enough to be able to cook for myself and my partner and a few friends. This grill fits that requirement perfectly. Gas is more convenient for me than charcoal, so that was a fit as well. It seems to be well made and has done good work already.
I feared not getting the little crisp on steaks and burgers as I got on my (now broke) infra red grill. But even though it takes a little longer to get to the max temp, it works better than I would ever have expected. And slow cooking a whole chicken on it was amazing the results I got. Small footprint, large cook area, versatile, I love this grill!!
I really like this grill I also have a pellet grill but the Weber is really good if you have something that you want to cook quickly. Overall the construction and materials are very good. The little tables on the the side are flimsy and I just removed them early on.
I have owned several Webbers over the years. Mostly charcoal. Still have a big 36 inch. We’re spending a lot of time in a fifth wheel RV these days. So I bought the 2800 for its compact yet high heat capability. It does not disappoint. It sears steaks beautifully. The first time I used it I did not have the regulator in the correct orientation and could not get it to temperature. Once I figured that out, the grill works superbly.
This Weber Grill has replaced our 30+year old Weber Grill. Since we got so much use out of our original Weber purchase, there wasn't any doubt about buying another Weber. This new one will probably outlive us!!! Our new grill lights up even easier than our previous Weber, but everything else is just what we were used to - a dependable grill that cooks great!!! AND THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT ANOTHER WEBER!!!
I bought this as a replacement for a grill at my second home in the NC mountains. It is on a wide covered porch. Most grilling is done in the afternoon or evening and the porch faces West, making this a perfectly scenic spot. Assembly was easy. I have the grill perched on a stable preexisting table. I like that the dome is taller than the previous grill. The two piece grate is substantial and easier to clean than a one piece. The ignition works fine, I really like the ability to crank up the burners to sear food or use the center low and slow burner for larger, tougher cuts
What a grill. I've cooked breakfast on it, ribs, chicken, burgers and pizza. The variable heat meets all of those needs. The heavy iron grill maintains the steady heat. My niece and husband bought one & love it. I bought one for my brother and had it delivered . Compact table top fits my needs and uncluttered patio area. Fast or slow cooking in one.
I liked my old Weber grill better. The side shelves folded up, the ones on this grill I have to remove because they don't fold up. I also liked my old grill grate better. It was the same design for the whole grill. This one is half like my old one and the other half, well after several months I still don't understand what the reasoning is for the difference.
