Love this 6 foot bar. Weekly I WD-40 it to keep it from rusting. Its an outdoor set I keep on my patio to do morning easy workouts outside. Walmart again is the place to buy something at a great price thats available no where else at the time. $30 is a great value right now.
This is a great 1" straight bar. I like the fact it is solid, I would never be comfortable with one of those "3-piece" bars. It's a little long and I may cut a few inches off of each end, but that is not a big deal either way. It DOES NOT include collars. I had some and was prepared for that, but I wish the description would state this fact. The end did get nicked very easily and created a sharp steel splinter, pretty sure I did it. I just took a file and smoothed it down. Just something to be aware of. I guess I did it sliding weight plates on and off. Would have made a nasty cut if I hadn't noticed it. All in all I am 100% pleased with this bar. I've used an EZ Curl bar for a long time and glad I finally bought a straight bar. Gives me many more options for grip width.
It is very solid and such a god bar especially for 30 bucks. But you wouldn't know it was 30 bucks because it isn't cheap looking or feeling. It isnt one that is in pieces and/or cheaply made because "you get what you pay for". It is 15 lbs by itself and just feels sturdy
Good, sturdy bar. I marked like for everything because there's really nothing wrong with this bar. However, I wish the grip area was marked more clearly (contrast color) so I have a visual guide for replacing the bar to balance. I might add my own markings. That said, it has not caused any sort of issues. Packaging was sufficient - just a long rectangular box. It was slightly damaged (the box), but that's not Walmart's fault. Can hold a good amount of weight. For this price you cannot beat it.
For the price of the barbell. It definitely worth it. You won't be disappointed at all. I highly recommend this.
Not much to say about a bar, but it's sturdy and I'm happy to have it in my possession. i would absolutely recommend it
Fits on my power rack, but just barely. You do have to be a bit intentional about your reps otherwise you might come down on top of a safety rack. That being said, it gets the job done during pandemic season. Only knock is that standard 1 inch clamps don't seem to fit on it- very loose. Easy fix by just putting some tape on the bar to thicken it a big, but still a flaw.
I was dissatisfied with the delay shipping time. It took 2 weeks to arrive. I even tried to dispute the charge because I didn't think it would come. But I'm not blaming too much on the merchant because 9/10 barbells (one solid piece like this) I found, they all have long delivery time. The surface's finish has a matte look, I mean it's not smooth like some other glossy finish, so the layer get scratched easier from the clamps and plates (not much of a problem to me) and some rust easily stick on it from an old pair of plates I got. It's a good solid bar, I usually put like 60-70lbs on it. I think the diamond knurling should be made rougher. I do believe it's not 1 inch thick but so are a lot of other barbells online, I think it helps putting on plates easier. To prevent scratches and make it thicker, you can put on couple layers of tapes. It's a fair barbell with fair price for any beginner like me or people who don't care too much.
Barbell is solid steel, weight is 15 lb. My sons love it, item is superior to what they were using. Only complaint is shipping is from the sellers warehouse not Walmart. It took the seller over a week to process and ship it. Then they sent it via FedEx ground from the west coast to Philly on the east coast. That took 6 days just in transit. Add on at least the 8 days to process and ship it the barbell finally arrived a full 2 weeks after I ordered it. Seller took way too long to ship. You're probably better off to check your local Walmart to see if it's in stock before you order from this seller.
The bar looks nice and feels solid and will work for what I bought for (mount on top of power rack for extended reach stretching/pull up bar). To actually use on the rack for exercises (press, curls, squats, etc.), I added extensions so the plates don't hit the sides. This bar measures 46" between the plate knots. If Weider were to extend the knots 48" apart, it should work on most power racks. On the outside were plates go, it measures 12.5", which is really a little more than needed. This 1" bar is not intended for heavy weight, maybe 150 lbs max, 100 lbs or less continuous. I was able to make this work using parts from old equipment, so I now have an extra bar, if needed. This bar will work fine for home, beginner benches mostly sold at Walmart, Academy, Dicks, etc. I'm happy with it.
