This item was easy to put together. I am 5ft tall and it comes right below my hips. I live in a townhome so the size was ideal for my home gym that I am starting to build. Right now it sits in my office and still does not take up a lot of space. The bar fits securely in its designated slot. The design of the base allows you to put the weight plates on with out it falling over.
Absolutely in love with this organizer. Seems extremely simple but made a world of difference in my home gym. Extremely sturdy and well made. Hold plates well and love the added feature to hold one of the bars to keep it off the floor. Worth the money.
My husband works out from time to time (nothing serious) so this rack was perfect for him. He has used it in the garage and in the bedroom and both fit well. The assembly was easy and my husband was using it in less than an hour. I was afraid that it would wobble, but it is very sturdy and stable. My husband is not sure if this would withstand weight over 200 lbs, but for lighter weights this is a great choice. Pros Easy Assembly Great for light weights Sturdy No wobble Portable Cons Weight limitation
The weight storage does just that store weights. We had weights stacked but this storage makes it look so much neater. The concept of the storage makes a lot of sense. It seems sturdy enough. I don't have huge weights so I can't really say whether it will hold those but for light weights it does without a problem. We have a home gym so this is a great addition.
Weider Weight Plate and Barbell Storage Rack with Compact Design has really declutter the far side of my bedroom. Following the instructions was different and just way more simpler to look on the box and set up from the way it looks. I did have to go digging around to find some tools as no is included for set up. I needed a deep set socket and a pair of Channel locks is what I found and to tighten up all the bolts. Attaching the straight arms to hold the weight plates was the easiest and the do hold both Standard and Olympic-sized plates.
The price is right for the materials used. However, here are a few issues: * The apex joiner is _plastic_. Really? * The maximum capacity is 210lbs. I suppose that's what the average person could do, but it is _not_ listed in the description. * The plastic feet caps barely provide enough clearance for the carriage bolts' heads * For a couple extra dollars, it could be beefed up for about 300lbs.
The build quality is adequate, esp. for the price point, and the design good, except that there are concentric slots for 1" and 2" bars, so if you have, say, a 20 kilo Rogue bar you don't want to mess up, you can't really put it in the barbell holder because then it is resting end-on on top of the end of a 1" piece of pipe. I'm going to try to cut out the center 1" holder (not easy because it's inside) so there is just a 2" holder, but wouldn't have bought had I known.
Did not seem like it'd be very sturdy. Besides that, all the pieces weren't in the box. I should have known based on how the box showed up. Looked like it'd been repackaged 5 times. Returning this for a different brand and going to a different store.
First one I got had the a damaged box and missing parts. Second one I got as a replacement has the base bent towards the left causing the weight bar to put all the weight on the safety strap on top. Huge danger if it falls. It's 40lbs, it will shatter window or tiles one the strap becomes undone.
I feel like I'd really enjoy this product, but am unable to put it together. It's simple to assemble, only 7 pieces not including bolts, washers, etc., but the quality of the bolts and washers make it impossible to out together. I would only recommend buying if you have a free weekend to assemble.
