I'm glad I purchased this bench. I spent several months researching home gyms and was very willing to pay top dollar, but the reviews on this workout gym were pretty good consistent. I'm a little woman and I put this together alone in a few hours with two kids running around. The instructions are super easy to understand with correlating pictures. Staying competively fit is extremely important to me but paying $80 a month just to get into the door of a crowded gym is absurd to me so I had to do something. I can work every part of my body even more efficiently now that I can take my time. The equipment comes with a a great photo diagram for different exercises using the bench that I find helpful. I will say that the shipping was quick but there were pieces sticking out and falling out of the box so I feared I lost some pieces even though I didn't but it did scratch my hardwood floors in the foyer which made my husband unhappy. Aside from that, I love it.
I had been looking for a bench for about 3 months and finally picked this one out. Great price at 134.00 other benches of this quality were running well above $200. Very easy to put together easy to read instructions. Will have to purchase the weights and bar to go with the bench, which will run your around 200 or more also to get 300lbs. But it works great and is very sturdy which i was worried about beacuse the bench part is seperate from where the bar rests but I put 245 on and it didnt move a bit while doing reps. The sepearte bench is very nice also because you can pull it away and do other exercises like butter flies and other exercises with dumbells and you dont have to worry about hitting anything in mid rep. Overall very happy.
This weight bench is manufactured under different names but is exactly the same except the color scheme. It is a excellent weight bench. I have one at my house and recently bought one for my son for his house. It is good quality and very functional. Just make sure you don't loose the plastic caps on the ends of the base. The edges under it hurt.
I bought this bench when it was 174.50, it seems to fluctuate quite a bit in price so if you're struggling to find it for that under 200 dollar range, just keep an eye out on walmart and amazon, it will go down, I've followed this product for some time. Assembly: Putting it together was a bit time consuming but I did it in a night, taking my time, and there were no problems for the most part. One thing to look out for, when putting together the squat rack, there's four screws and one bolt for each arm when connecting them to the base, screw each screw a little bit until all are tight along with the bolt, do not tighten one screw all the way down and then go to the next as it will shift the holes and some screws will not go in, hope that makes sense. Overall a very smooth process, and the directions were so clear and easy to follow, easier than legos, lol. My only problem was that I was missing two washers, unless I put them on a bolt that didn't need them, not an issue though, they're cheap and for the area I needed them were not necessary from my observation (just the weight holders). Bench and rack: No complaints, the thing is solid as a rock and is going to last. I am so glad I bought this thing, and I am sure anyone interested will be as well. As said in other reviews, for shorter people, the bench might be problematic as your feet might not touch the ground, but as others have said, you can simply put your feet on the..er feet of the bench, which is an easy fix and definitely not a deal breaker by any means. Everything feels solid and I have no concerns about the bench, it's very well made. Bang for buck: Depending on what you buy it for, will determine how good of a value. On one hand, if you bought it for 174 like some of us, it's practically a steal. It's hard to find even racks for less than 200 bucks, let alone both that and a nice bench. If you had to pay 250ish it's still a great deal although if you can wait, wait, because as I said in the beginning the price fluctuates. This bench has been out for over 5 years and the price started out at around 135ish. Yes it has gone up, but if you do some research you can see that the price does indeed fluctuate in this way for a month to a week at a time so just be patient and keep your eyes peeled on amazon and Walmart, and you will find one for the right price.
Considering I don't lift heavy, this Olympic bench works well for my needs. I've done Incline and Flat bench lifts with no issues. Additionally I've completed squats with the rack. Everything works as it should with no concerns about safety or the quality of the equipment. I would recommend this to any young athlete as well as fitness enthusiasts.
Assembly took just over 2 hours with my husband's help. Make sure you have lots of tools, especially an adjustable wrench and a socket wrench set. All parts seem very strong and durable. The only thing that will eventually break would be the cushion seams on the weight bench. I like how we have a separate weight rack for squats and a very versatile bench. The only thing is we'll have to move the bench depending on if we want to bench press or do squats. Overall, this is a great buy and I'm excited to see my results! Just a heads up, there are a few small pieces shown on the instructions, but they might already be somewhat assembled, so you might think you lost a piece, but it's already where it should be. Another thing, the weight bench accommodates 2" olympic sized plates. We have this set up in our two car garage. There is still room on one side to park one of our cars. See the photos I took.
I guess maybe my expectations are a bit to high going from a fitness center to a home gym thanks to covid but this weight bench is not very stable. specifically the squat rack portion. Try to take anything heavier than the 10 lb weighs off the bar while the bar is on the rack and the rack with tilt back and forth as you take the weights off. Believe me, I secured the bolts as tight as possible. It just wobbles and tilts. Speaking of the rack, getting the screws (why they switch from bolts everywhere to screws is beyond me) into the holes to attach the rack to the base is nearly impossible. I don't know if they are cranking these benches off the line to quickly because of covid but the screws took 2 days worth of effort to get in and secured. It might contribute to the wobble for all I know. It still holds the weight but it wobbles like I said when you try to put weights on the bar or take them off. Also, none of the cushions secure straight. They are all just a little crooked. Kind of annoying when you get something brand new and nothing is all that straight. All this being said, I am going to keep it and get back into shape as best as I can. I'd rather deal with the imperfections that wait any longer for something new and more expensive to deliver.
Takes some time to assemble, especially if you alone Bench seat/support proportion is not convenient at least for me. My butt always between them in the split. Safety spotter always ether too low or too high. and they are too long. They obstruct me when I bench press. So, if you hope for serious weight you better find a partner. Otherwise you will loose a half of move. Bench doesn't have enough decline, just a little bit. Stands are sturdy, but extending require a lot of time because of screws. It might slow your pace if you do some super sets. You will need olympic length bar. Leg lever and preacher pad almost useless
The uprights both lean to one side. Makes me question structural integrity. Pain to make adjustments because you have to unscrew both sides. Decline position is hardly decline. Otherwise nice to have a "spotter" when lifting heavy and not a bad buy for the price. Also during incline the seat should sit up. Butt wants to slide.
It's the sturdiest piece of gym equipment out there - it can handle some actual weight (up to 300lbs). The adjustable bench is not secure - it is held in place by a tab of metal at the bottom of the backrest post which is questionable as you may need to make sure it securely sits in the slots before using the bench. Just pray the tab does not pop out during a bench press. The leg attachment was not properly designed; it forces the user to sit close to the curling pad which even if removed, leaves a very painful metal object wedged between your legs if you do leg extensions or leg curls. In addition, the length of the padded bars are too short, this forces the user to keep their legs very close which makes it difficult to do proper extensions or curls. The padding is poor as it is not stiff enough to make it comfortable with any weight on the attachment. The bench press, spotter attachment is a good idea, but sits too far forward so it interferes with a proper press - if you move the bench forward enough to clear the spotter then you will have to use the spotter as the weight rest during your sets. The knobs that hold the spotter in place are too high up so that if one uses a standard 25lb plate on a barbell, it prevents it from completely going onto the barbell. The adjustment knobs are screw type, so it takes a while to change out the attachments or adjust the weight rest. The lack of complete welds in several places concern me. All considered, this is an entry level piece of equipment and not worth the asking price.
