I've had several Wemo products that have worked fine over the last few years. Though they haven't worked flawlessly, they have served the function I needed. There have been WiFi hiccups that took some effort to overcome, but in general, they work as advertised.
The two new Smart Plugs I just ordered were supposed to help me time and conveniently switch on and off my Christmas decorations. I got them and set them up without any problem. They worked fine until I upgraded my eero mesh router to a new WiFi 6 version. Then the problems started. I don't know if it was coincidental, but they stopped connecting to the network. All my older Wemo products had no problem, but the new Plugs stopped connecting. I tried everything the troubleshooting advised to no avail. I finally did a factory reset and that was the end of it. Basically bricks now.
I use Apple HomeKit to coordinate my products and haven't had any problem with the old Wemo products, but now HomeKit won't recognize the Plugs. I was on tech support for most of Sunday and couldn't find a solution. They are sending me one new Plug to replace the one that went out first. We'll see how that goes.
