Vastly improved
I was not happy when my old unit disappeared. (Who would be?) Forced to buy a new one, I am now glad to move into the 21st century. It's smooth, quiet %26 easy to control. It also adjusts across a wide range of force where my old unit had a finicky "On/off" arrangement if I asked it for any depth change. Now the neighbors don't know when I'm working. Do yourself a favor: Throw out that 25-30 year old relic %26 move into this century. DOUG out

Decent value for the price
Decent value for the price. About the least expensive I could find. The stencil is paper only for tracing with a pencil not for engraver use. The movement is just a little sloppy on this so may be more difficult for intricate work. Be careful titeninfbthe tip because the screw and wrench are softer material and feel like they could strip with over tightening. Over all a decent value.

The engraving needle would not go in the holder far enough to allow the allen screw to tighten it down so it would stay,
