Very good steps, high quality as I expected

The installation video showed installation with some U-Nut clips. You don't need those at all on my 2021 Silverado 2500. Just pop out the plastic plugs in the frame to expose the predrilled threaded mounting holes. I did initially pull the wrong plastic plugs on rear location (there were others further back). Also, good idea not to tighten until you have all the bolts threaded; I had to move the bars slightly to get the bracket to line up to holes. Looks great, easy install and parts left over (U-nut clips). Feels nice and solid; great quality.

I bought a step bar to ease access for my wife and grandchildren. I picked the Westin HDX stainless drop steps and am happy with my choice for several reasons: * Matches styling of truck, * The step is slightly lower than others, * The individual step 'loops' and the way bar is tucked under the rocker panel make it easier for me to step over the bar when getting in and out, * I chose the stainless version because I plan on keeping the truck for a long time, * While I did need extra hands to support the bars while mounting in place, everything lined up and it went quickly.

Steps were very easy to install. They look sharp. Good step spacing ground to step and step to cab. Only downside is the stainless step surface gets very slippery when wet or snow covered. Could use a more aggressive tread pattern to address slip issues. No regrets about going this route.

I'm really happy with how these turned out. But.....it took quite a while for my husband who is a mechanic and very good at figuring things out to get them installed. The directions were horrible, pieces were labeled wrong, and there was hardware missing. He made them work and I love how they look on my Jeep.

These are the best looking step bars I've seen. They are very solid when installed. Installation is pretty simple once you determine where the mounting brackets go. It would be helpful if the brackets were marked or had some form of identification for their specific location. Realtruck has been outstanding with any customer assistance I've needed. I would recommend both the steps and Realtruck to friends and family.

They look good on my 2020 Ram Bighorn and I'm happy with the steps. What I'm concerned about and not happy with is the mounting. There is a lot of flex in the step when you go to use it and I am concerned that the mounting hardware isn't substantial enough to hold up long term. Before some says I am too heavy, I only weigh 172 pounds and the mounting points are in three places. There shouldn't be any flex when you go to use the step. I don't think that this the mounting hardware will hold up long term and I am also concerned about that flex impacting the integrity of the rocker panel. That is the reasoning for my low rating. If it was more sturdy in terms of mounting to the vehicle I would give it a higher rating. Also why sell a Stainless step without stainless hardware? I'll pay the extra money if stainless hardware was available.

I bought these Westin HDX nerf bars after hours of searching for something that looks good and is made to last. Well they look great but its only a year and they have several spots of rust. They advertise stainless steel and powder coated at least 3 times in the description, not so sure I believe them.
