Great generator. Purchased online at Walmart for 799.00. Couldn’t pass up that price. Went back to order another and the price was right back up to 1299.00. Not sure what happened but this thing runs my house just fine. A transfer switch makes it simple. Remote start duel fuel starts right up.
So far, so good! I bought it at a great price four months ago, and haven't touched it. Today we had power out for 4-5 hours and figured it was time to crank it up. Added oil, filled with gas, plugged in the battery, and hit the start button. It turned over right away, but didn't fire so it stopped on its own. I waited a couple seconds and it turned over again on its own without me touching anything. It didn't fire the second time, but on the third try it started on its own, and fired right up! The three starts was due to it being shipped without fuel, so it had to prime the lines and carburetor. It is louder than my old one, but I don't care. I use it for emergencies and noise doesn't matter when you got no power. I'm going to try propane next, which will be a bonus in cold NE weather, and the remote starter is cool. Time will tell how reliable it is and how long it will last.
Description was spot on. Easy to follow instructions. Started up 2nd try with push button key fob. Used Propane fuel. Only ran it to make sure it ran but it ran fine. Used propane so I don't have to worry about changing gasolene out of tank, if it sits to long.
Price was great...even cheaper than WalMart's internet competitor. It was shipped to my door and was quick....about 5 days total. The unit was easy to assemble....just put on the wheels, connect the electrical connection for the battery (it's already in place and hooked up, just push the connector together), add the oil which is supplied, hook up the propane bottle to the regulator they supplied, flip on the master breaker on the machine and push the start button. It started right up and ran great. I tested it for capacity, and sure enough my air compressor was screwing up, and locking up, and when it does it tries to pull 47 amps (until the house panel 20 amp breaker flips!!!). I wondered why the generator master breaker was popping (I didn't know my compressor was acting up at the time!) and my electrician put my air compressor back on house power, and checked the amp draw, and that is when we figured out my air compressor was locking up and pulling way to many amps. Once we got IT fixed, we hooked the generator back up and had no problems running my well, and my compressor, along with all the barn lights....it won't supply a whole house, but sure will take care of my well and some selected shop equipment. BTW, when it is running on one fuel, you can flip the lever and have it switch over to the other without a hickup. Not sure I would leave gas in the take just in case, but it is nice to know of the feature.
Great product. One day after setting it up with a new transfer switch, I had a power failure that lasted for 4-5 hours. The Westinghouse WGen7500DFc Remote Electric Start generator that runs on both gasoline and propane operated perfectly. So far, love this feature rich generator. My wife loves her remote start FOB that came with the generator.
I bought is during a multi-day power outage during winter storms. It worked great and was a lifesaver. Minimal assembly required and easy to start. I used it to recharge my Jackery 3KW power station which everything else was plugged into. I have only used gas so far, but will likely try the propane in the future.
This was generator I wanted. It arrived 1 day late, and would not run on gasoline, but it did run on propane.I checked out the output of all the control outlets , they all worked as described. Then tried contacting Westinghouse help number on generator, they would not answer after 5 calls gave up. Contacted Walmart they stated they would contact third party about issue. They asked if I wanted a return, and how to resolve the issue. I stated I waited and paid almost $900 for a generator that would not start . Waiting 48 hours for Westinghouse to fix the problem. Have not heard from them. If they do not help me I will return this unit for another one that will work as described
We bought this beautiful generator over 2 weeks ago. Assembled according to the instructions, all fluid levels check and never start. Calling manufacturer 5 times already - no response!!! I stuck with broken generator in the middle of hurricane season with no response from any of customer service.
Opened the box to find the frame on the bottom where they weld it to be broken. Tried to start it and had many problems…tried to call customer service and told them what was going on and they still haven’t returned back to me about it. Its been a week since I contacted them and still nothing. Finally a couple days later we got it started.
Brand new, followed start up instructions. Won't start on gas. Support instructions involve dismantling whole carb set up. Really?! I shouldn't have to do repairs to use a brand new generator.
