Takes 4 AAA batteries, first off, nowhere could we find this on box. Came with apple wood chips, my house smells smoky, I like it. We love smoked gouda cheese so that was my first attempt. Did in a sandwich bag and it filled up with smoke quick. We tied it off to let sit in smoke a few hours after turning off and it was yummy. Plan to do some porkchops tonight. Not disappointed at all for a quick smoky flavor of anything. Some rainy nights or in Winter when grill or outdoor smoker is not an option, try this. You will not be disappointed.

We love this infuser! We use it to add a smoked flavor to pork and chicken -- so far so good! We have a huge smoker grill that we use in the summer but this is convenient year round.It is nice and compact and really anyone can use it. I would recommend this product and also bought one for my friend!

The Weston infuser is an excellent product. I love how easy it is to use straight out of the box. Connect all the pieces following the instructions manual and put the screens in and afterwards put the included wood chips. Light up the wood chips and the smoke is released once you turn it on. I smoked my fresh Atlantic salmon prior to baking it and it came out delicious. Nice even smoky flavor. I will definitely be trying other wood chips. Easy to use and a great quality product. Cleaning is always very easy as most components are washable.

I use this sometimes for chicken or other meats. My spouse likes to use it when making drinks and wants to attempt smoking cheese. We shall see! I want to find some non traditional ways to use it. My next plan is making salsa, maybe smoking the onions & garlic will work. I've never used a smoke infuser before but I think it's interesting.

I'm Not Big Of A Fan Of Smoked Meats Or Cheeses At All But I Did Try This Infuser. It Came With Everything You Will Need To Smoke Cheese Or A Piece Of Meat Or Drinks , Just Insert The Required Batteries 4 And A Pinch Of The Wood Chips ,Add More If You Like It More Smoky . It Doesn't Come With The Cover To Put Over It But You Can Use A Plate Cover Or A Zip Style Bag To Cover What You Are Smoking . It Was Really Easy To Assemble And As Soon As You Turn It On It Immediately Starts Smoking And Doesn't Take Long For Whatever Your Smoking To Be Done . I Tried A Leg Quarter And It Worked Perfectly . And Tasted Pretty Good . And It Is Easy To Disassemble And To Clean . I Didn't Want To Smoke It Inside As It Said Don't Use Around Smoke Alarms .

I really like this little smoke infuser! It's small, easy to store, and it works super quick! It was easy to put together and I tried smoking a tray of cheese for my first venture. I was shocked at how quickly it worked. It took very little wood chips and was done in literally less than a minute. The cheese had great smoky flavor. I can't wait to smoke more stuff! Super easy to clean and store, highly recommended.

I love to cook and try new kitchen gadgets but have never tried a portable smoker. I like smoke-flavored meats but don't like them too smokey. This one starts smoking immediately and there is a lot of smoke. The directions say don't use near a smoke detector and I can see why. I decided to do my first experiment outside, just in case. I used two chicken thighs and followed the directions. I didn't have a cloche so I used a plastic microwavable bowl to cover it. The smoking started immediately after lighting the wood chips. Depending on how much smoke flavor you want to add, you can start at 30 seconds and continue with another up until you are satisfied with the outcome. It would take experimentation to determine how long you need to smoke your food to suit your taste. It is nice that you can do a variety of foods and drinks with this. The battery compartment is tight and I had a bit of a time getting the batteries in and out. The base seems sturdy and the hose is a good length. I give it 5 stars for the ease of use and how quickly the product is smoked.

First, I took off a star because it takes 4 AA batteries and those were not included. It comes with a huge bag of apple wood smoke chips, and considering you only use a tiny bit to fill it, I would say this would last the whole year depending on how many times you use it. It does come with extra screens which is awesome. It really wasn't that hard to clean, but more of a time consuming issue. I did let everything air dry over night before putting it away in the box. The only other thing that I didn't like was that it didn't have the cover that you have to put over the meat. I ended up using my cake dish stand over and that worked really well to keep all the smoke in. You'll definitely have to make sure you are prepared ahead of time for all these things. We smoked three different items with the Weston smoke infuser. One was a glass of whiskey, just because we wanted to try it. I could taste a hint of the smoke, it wasn't terribly strong. The next thing was a few pieces of cheese. Obviously some cheeses will be better than others. We liked how the Gouda cheese tasted with the apple chips and the cheddar. Lastly we smoked a porkbutt for about 6 hours on our grill. While it was resting, we used the Weston infuser to get the apple chip smoke to increase flavor. It worked really well, as if we had put the chips in our grill and it had smoked all day.

Pros Easy to use Adds nice smoky flavor Cons Smokes up the kitchen. This thing is like a giant electric Hooka. You put the chips in, put the hose in a bag with your meat, turn the fan on, and light the chips. It blows smoke into the back and makes everything smell and taste like a smokehouse. I tried this with chicken and beef. Both were cold and in a plastic bag. I found the longer I left it in the bag the better the flavor got in the meat. While it doesn't make BBQ it will absolutely punches up run of the mill chicken taking it from plain to something better. It does make a large amount of smoke for the tiny size so use this outside, under and exhaust fan, or be prepared for your house to smell like a BBQ Pit for a week (and for your smoke detector to go off).

Weston Smoke Infuser measures approx 8” tall with a base of approx 3 1/4”. The batteries are not included, battery compartment is easily accessed through the bottom of the infuser. It came with extra screens and a small bag of apple wood shreds. A cloche is not included, although one is shown on the box. Until I can get one, I'm improvising with saran wrap over a glass dish/bowl, etc. At the listed price I think it should come with one, even if it's plastic. I discovered you can use dried (finely chopped) lemon rinds, herbs, etc with hers. I plan to experiment. Overall a good item.
