This does everything it says it can, and does it well. I'm going to buy 2 more for gifts! A+
I love it.
For the price, very nice kitchen tool. Made well. Allows an infinite amount of slice thicknesses from see through paper thin to thick.. Unlike most Manderine slicers, this one has several attachments for grating things like cheese or potatoes for hash-browns. Sturdy, easy to rinse clean. Very sharp stainless steel blades. Be careful, and I would not allow children to use this. Comes with a hand guard which you should always use. Do not hesitate, order one.
This Mandoline slicer is everything I thought it to be. I would recommend this to anyone who does a lot of slicing and diceing. Works great.
Easy to remove blades for different cuts. Easy to clean and rise. Strong plastic. Does the job right, what more can I ask for.
I was looking for an economical slicer. This one does everything I hoped it would. It is very easy to use. The slices are uniform and the blades are sharp. I am very pleased with this purchase.
have not used it often enough to say how long the blade stays sharpened but am very satisfied as of now
I've been using this for two years, linked to this on a forum and was saddened by the one star review that this had... This thing has cut everything we've sent through it-Cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, fingers... You name it, it's cut it. About the lack of instructions and confusion: 1. You pick out which "plate" tickles your fancy-Thick, thin, thick julien, and thick julien- from the supplied holder. 2. You remove the safety insert (which I recommend using) from the slicer and insert the one you plan to use. 3. slice away. The unit hangs over a bowl very easily so you don't end up having to just slice them onto the counter and then scoop them into a bowl afterwards. 4. ?????? 5. Profit. Seriously... It's not rocket surgery. I don't use the safety holder because it's kinda awkward... *see related* I'm sure there are better ones out there, but this one will get the job done.
I've only used the mandoline one time and it did the job of slicing my potatoes. I did not cut myself but I see that there is the potential.
If your hoping this is slicer is the answer to making slicing your fruits and veggies easier than by hand, don't. It's difficult to grip your food and there is no room under the slicer for it to fall. Poorly designed and of poor quality.
