[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this ice maker for about six months now, and I am prepared to say it's the best under-the-counter ice machine I've ever owned. Since I already had an electrical outlet and a gravity drain, installation was no problem, and the machine itself has given no problems. It simply goes about its business of making nice, neat, smallish ice cubes that don't clump together (as the ice in my previous machine did). It may not be the quietest model in the world, but it is not so noisy as to be a bother. I highly recommend this ice machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jace is an excellent technician. He is very knowledgeable about the product he works on. He will explain the problem in terms you can understand and then explains what needs to be done to correct it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Direct replacement for a KitchenAid that needed a new circuit board. It is exactly the same machine except the Whirlpool model does not have the "fancy" extra door handle (which I didn't like anyway) and this new one has a very easy access built-in water filter. Slid right in the existing space perfectly without a single modification.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Whirlpool ice maker I bought for the kitchen. The first had issues that the cost to repair after 24 months indicated purchasing a new one was the better path. I bought the same for model for price and performance. Working great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the size/shape of the cubes. Also, the design of the scooper and holder is well placed for easy access and storage without touching the ice in the bin. One negative is that it makes a lot of periodic noise, much more than my previous icemaker. I can hear water running and the machine humming from our pantry (not close by). Overall, it is a good appliance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It makes clear ice as stated; however, the ice is not like our previous ice maker that made the same size clear ice because this ice melts almost immediately when adding alcohol to it in a shaker thus watering down the cocktail.
I had this ice maker for over 3 years and it made good clear ice but today it is no longer making ice today :( The water runs but it no longer freezes. I am now going to have to look into getting a new one. I don't know if i will buy whirlpool again bc i feel that it should have lasted for more than 3 years for the price i paid for it. Buyer beware.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this one week ago. It does not work, but the dealer has been extremely responsive. They sent a lower-level employee out within a few hours of my calling them and sent a technician within two working days. He came yesterday. He said he needed a part that he hoped he could get today and that, if he could, he would install it today. I gave it two stars instead of one because the dealer responded so well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this ice maker a little over two weeks ago and had it installed. After suffering some difficulties with its operation I complained to Whirlpool who is sending a tech to look at it. At the moment I am not pleased with its operation nor the responsiveness of Whirlpool regarding my problem.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only had this icemaker six months and I've already had to have two service calls on it. It does not make good ice. The ice is way too thin, and the service calls are a real inconvenience. I would not buy this brand again..
