Whirlpool WUW35X24DS 24 Inch Under Counter Wine Center with Custom Temperature Control

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 16 years, my Maytag wine cooler needed to be replaced. I wanted to buy a Whirlpool Corp. product because of the good experience Really like my new wine cooler. Better racking and great to have exact temp adjustment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my old Whirlpool wine cooler that was eight years old with the same model. I was happy with the old model, and I am happy with the replacement. I hope it last longer than the previous one.

Just installed this unit and have three items to be aware of if you are considering it:1. The door needs around 120 degrees to open or the rack will clip the the door gasket when it is slid in or out.2. The energy efficiency of this unit is poor. The energy guide range for similar units is a low of 114 KWH to 440 KWH, this unit comes in at 380 KWH.3. The base of the unit is back about two inches from the face of the door, so it sticks out about two inches from the cabinet toekick.

It holds a lot of wine. It keeps it cold. It is fairly quiet when running. Odd-shaped bottles - work them in, or take out one shelf and put them all in one place. Fat champagne - some fit better than others, but it's only the front-wood part that rubs when you pull the shelf out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a 4 year old refrigerator and is hardly cooling. The temperature is all the way down to 41 and hardly cold inside. Im afraid all my wine bottles will go bad. It's unfortunate for such an expensive wine cooler to last only few years.

This model is not multi-use. Bottles smaller in diameter than a wine bottle fall through the slots. Need to be able to order replacement shelves so that this unit can be used with varying size bottles and or cans.

This was builder supplied in our new custom home and we have been very disappointed. The compressor is very loud. We have had two service people come out and tell us that is just the way it works and then told by the salesperson for Whirlpool the same thing. We had a GE in our other house and it never made any noise. We are having this replaced this week with a different brand. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Like so many others that have bought this Whirlpool wine fridge, ours has died too. It just stopped working, no cooling, no light, nothing. When designing our kitchen, the contractor misread this unit's dimensions, mistaking the fridge's overall dimensions for the space dimensions, necessitating the removal of the granite countertop to install it. Now I'm going to have to find someone willing to try to remove the countertop (including disconnecting the bar sink's plumbing) without breaking it, just so I can get rid of this piece of junk. One thing's for sure, I won't be buying another Whirlpool wine fridge, or anything else made by Whirlpool ever again.

We bought this wine storage unit when we built a new home in August 2016. Unit worked well for about 15 months and then simply stopped cooling. We are now having to spend to replace it. We have owned several similar units that lasted 7 and 12 years respectively...shameful that whirlpool would settle for substandard production.
