When guests come to stay in our guest bedroom, they've complained about it being a little too warm. Until now, we've just used a small window unit A/C, but it's a true pain in the back for us to lift that heavy thing, and install it into a window for them to use. So, we tried out this new floor unit A/C. It's WONDEREFUL, quiet running, and very easy to vent out a window (with it's lightweight flex hose) and it cools the room quickly! We're VERY pleased with it's performance and ease of use. Our backs no longer ache horribly from preparing the room for guests. LOVE IT!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an incredible unit! I love how easy it is to set up. The controls are easy to use. No remote, but the timer function is great. It does an amazing job cooling out garage, and keeping it cool!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A powerhouse for an office or bedroom. The Whirlpool brand lives up to its excellent reputation. It's a bit heavy, so you'll probably need another person to move it into place. I couldn't believe how cold it made our in-home office.
I have only used it for 3 days but so far, I am pretty happy with it. Produces a good amount of cold air. It is loud but probably not more than a window unit. It looks like emptying the water from it is going to be a chore. There reservoir is not removable and the drain hole is at the very bottom of the back. Probably need to lift the whole unit up on a platform or something and drain it into a bucket. Not ideal. The panel that goes in the window is strange. I can't find any way to make it seat correctly and I don't want to duct tape it in place to make a good seal.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a simple, convenient, and effective solution! It has wheels which makes it easy to roll, it has an adjustable vent to direct your air circulation, it has a filter for air quality, and easy to understand settings. Also, it has a remote! This was so easy to set up also, I probably got this whole system situated in 15 minutes. It definitely does its job, keeping the room cold but it does have options for auto control, cold, dry, and fan. It’s also not very loud so it won’t wake you if you’re trying to sleep (or have babies trying to sleep). I would definitely recommend to someone looking for an easily portable solution.
I was very impressed with this portable air conditioner. Once installed, it puts out some really cold air and fast! I did an experiment on a really and humid NC day with the temp at 98 degrees outside (felt like 100 degrees). We keep our air a comfortable 74 degrees and use our ceiling fans in all the rooms to distribute air (blinds are tilted up to reflect UV and heat) and overall, it's very ice. But, I decided to see just how cold and how quickly this air conditioner would cool a 12x14 master bedroom. I closed all the doors off (closet, bathroom, hall door and closed the blinds). Now, here is why I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5. The manual is not very clear as to exactly what tools one would need to make the window attachment fit correctly (ie. it should say: you will need tape measure, saw, a bucket for drainage, and rubber seal strips, etc). I had to cut mine with my miter box saw. Also, the manual shows that there should be rubber seals/strips to fit along the edges of the window attachment to keep from leaking out but there were none. I had to use bubble wrap along the edge for a makeshift seal. And the slide window attachment has a hard time staying in place so you can shut the window down on it before it folds in on you. After several attempts I got it to work. The hose also comes off the window attachment too easily and that took a few trys. However, it took less than 30 minutes at 64 degrees and it was super chilly in that room. I went to another room to see the difference and it was much warmer in the rest of the house. Overall, a good product but needs but instructions and maybe better user friendly.parts. Oh, one more thing...unless you are a power lifter, this thing weighs a ton so use the rollers and get help if you must lift it!
This portable air conditioner works great! I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because the piece that went in the window was broken, I am still able to use it and it doesn't effect anything. It's easy to set up and understand the controls on the machine and on the remote. It's relatively quiet, as in it poses no problem trying to sleep with it on. If you're used to sleeping with a fan going you should have no problems with the noise. I would definitely buy another one of these over a window unit.
The dehumidification is very poor. Yes it removes water but not at a capacity you would expect a 400 item to do so. The cooling is fairly decent, but I wouldn't recommend going above 300 sq ft and I did not really get to test the heating. I need the dehumidification bc this is in a laundry room without central air
Leaks water so much. I bought this for my kids room upstairs . The first night it leaked water and the whole carpet got soaked. After few days the water leaked through my roof and damaged the whole ceiling. I kept bucket and every night have to empty it as it gets full in three hours. Can’t believe Walmart is selling such faulty air conditioners to its customers.
Ordered a Whirpool portable air conditioner and it was shipped to me. When I opened the box up the slider piece that goes in the window was broken. The end of it was broken off. After speaking with 3 different people the only solution they could come up with was for me to return it and order another one. The problem is I am a 71 year old senior woman who had to have my next door neighbor bring it into the house for me because it weighs over 70 pounds. So to box it up and get it back to my local Wal-Mart would be impossible for me. Asked why they couldn't contact Whirpool directly for a replacement piece (I initially contacted Whirpool myself and they said for the first 30 days Wal-Mart is responsible) and was told the only option was to return it. Side note: this air conditioner was manufactured December of 2021 so it's already 3 years old before it even comes out of the box.
